I am a friend or relative of a resident
My great aunt was a resident at this facility. She lived independently for many years but fell ill. Once discharged from the hospital, we had to move her to Maryland with us and put her in a nursing home. After looking at several nursing homes in the area, we settled on this one mainly because of its proximity to where we lived. I actually lived on the same street as the nursing home at the time. We needed to find a place for her immediately. They were filled to capacity but were willing to work with my family and gave my aunt a temporary bed. She soon became a permanent resident of the home. This was a great relief to us. The nursing home was clean and the staff was friendly. I also liked the fact that the nursing home is right next to doctors hospital so if anything happened she could go straight there. The staff did what they could to help. For example, at one point my aunt wasn't really eating and they asked us if we wanted her to be tube fed. We declined. The cnas would sometimes braid her hair or sit with and keep her company when she asked. Overall I would recommend this facility. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wasn't too excited about my aunt's roommate, which the nursing home couldn't do much about - but it still affected my overall experience with the place.
