I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The building got a face lift!!! It’s being updated and remolded. They do Omelette day for residents, Bingo, celebration and education for other cultures. They have bilingual staff members. Staff is very friendly and go out their way for their residents and family!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was in the Crossroads Care Center of Kenosha. The rooms had mold on the walls. And it was a really bad discoloration of bad wallpaper. The windows were old and outdated. When you first walk into the room, there's like a hand sanitizer that never had hand sanitizer in it. You go into the room, there's to the left of you a bed and to the right of you a small dresser. And then there was a normal size dresser with my mother's refrigerator on it. It was a really small space to have two beds in it, especially a bed for a bariatric patient. That was small. When you go farther towards the wall, to the right, there's a small bathroom where two people, my mother's a bariatric patient, the other lady was skinny, and they both had wheelchairs, so they were having access to the bathroom, and it was really small. I knew of a few people who worked in the kitchen. They would tell us that there's no way that the cook could take all the sodium out of it just for one person. I said, no, " If I'm cooking before I season my food, I'm going to take what she needs out of it." So a lot of times we were still buying her food and bringing her food. That's why she had a little refrigerator because they could not provide meals for her consistently. I watched my mom sit on the toilet on a video call for 2 hours. I called on the phone. It's like they had caller I.D. They would not come to get her off the toilet. She sat there so long, her lymphedema, her leg was weeping that it created a puddle. She tried to get off the toilet and fell. "How can you treat people like that? " My mom kept the same stain on her toilet for a whole week, and I told the lady, "Look, this stain has been here for a while." They come in chit chat and then they leave out like they did something. Outside its not that much ambiance but it's nice because it has a lot of nature and I like that. But when they can't open their windows really and get a good breeze coming in, what good is it? Especially in the summer, they don't have a real seating area, no area where you can have your family come up and still be included in activities. You know, we used to just take our chairs and go sit outside my mom's window and let her watch her grandkids play. And sometimes, we make her up a sub if they were short on food and weren't feeding her right.

I visited this facility

I am a friend who's mother was admitted for therapy. She was admitted one evening and fell the very next morning on the broken leg that had just been repaired surgically. No concern for the patients from what I could see. So much for new ownership and a caring corporation. Think maybe the owners should take a closer look at their nurses!

I am a friend or relative of resident

This location is well kept and clean, but the patients are only kept clean when they are expecting family. I went there late at night and my mother was lying naked in bed with a sheet over her. They bully the patients into changing doctors and hospitals to the ones THEY prefer, not the patient. It is a horrible experience. My mother is there for rehab to recover from surgery. She does not get the therapy that they bill medicare for. My mother has no signs of dementia, yet they keep insisting she is incompetent. It is horrifying to see the way she is treated.
