Golden Livingcenter - Starmount

Golden Living Center accepts Medicaid. They were just easier to work with. The facility is clean, although my aunt is in a tiny room, but all the help seems fine. I'm working on how she could have a larger room. I haven't tried the food there, but she seems all right with it.

I have had a very good experience with this assisted living provider. The staff are very friendly and attentive to the residents. There is very little turnover of staff, so the residents always see a familiar face. The residents are free to move around within the facility, but a monitor that they wear will sound an alarm if they exit the facility. The food provided is healthy and nutritious, and is modified for those residents with dietary restrictions or who have trouble chewing solid food. The staff clean the residents frequently and also assist them with eating if needed. There is a beauty shop on site that provides hair cuts and basic grooming to the residents. The residents' health is monitored at all times and the staff will notify the emergency contact of any change in condition immediately. The facility will also transport the residents to scheduled medical appointments if needed. Overall this is a very good assisted living facility and I would recommend it to anyone.

My experience with them was just awful. My husband almost died because they failed to monitor simple intake and outake. They also did not take the correct steps when he was throwing up blood. Because of their negletct he had to be rushed to the hospital and almost died. He also suffered other complications from this neglect.
