I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My in-laws were at Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They already moved out. It wasn't that great. There were a lot of staff during the week, but not that much at night, and not that much on the weekend. Their food was not that great. I didn't eat it, but it didn't look that great. They brought a hotdog in a bun and no condiments, and the chips were some of those kettle type chips that older people can't really eat that well. The care for the people didn't seem to be that great. The size of the room was not bad. They had a chest of drawers, a dresser, and a closet. The bathroom had a toilet and a sink. It did not have a shower or anything since it was rehab, so the size of the room was not bad. But the place was dark. It was covered by Medicare, so my in-laws didn't have to pay for the time they were there. I think Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center needs to improve their cleaning and their furnishings for what they have for the people, because they didn't even have the bedside tables. They didn't even have those in the room when my in-laws first got there.

I visited this facility

I visited my aunt, it was very cute. The residents all looked happy, we’re playing bingo! There was a nice outdoor patio that residents could sit and BBQ.

My mother has been at the facility for 2 weeks. She is not changed regularly, she is not given water, I have to bring her water, after several calls to complain I don't receive any calls back. this place looks nice, but looks are very deceiving. Stay far far away!!!!

This place is HORRIBLE, they are terrible terrible people who DONT care for these people. The meals are disgusting and most days can't even tell you what it is. Lots of times they forget to even give them a meal. Is patient screaming help me I just wanna go to bed and get out of my wheelchair care for hours. Others falling down because they don't answer the call light. They just sent one off to a crazy home because that person was always telling the staff how things were wrong and how they all were getting treated. So off that one went. But never once was a issue resolved . And for a human to allow another human to get treated in that way is disgusting. At ALL HOURS of the night anyone can enter that building. Never once has those doors been locked. It's UNBELIEVABLE. I have several photos and records of those place and will be reporting this facility. .

So where do I start.. let's just say they forget to give the residents meals, they never clean the rooms, MANY times they don't even change their diapers. Fire alarms going off, all doors shut them inside rooms . Only 2 on duty for over 25 residents. I have never seen any of the staff do anything with these folks. They make thie residents come into the halls to get in line to receive their meds. My loved one has been to the er at least 3 times due to them not taking care of them. It's SICKING .I can go on & on about the stuff there

My mom is at Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They're awful. They told us that once her quarantine was done we would be able to have in-person visits, and the admissions person lied about that because that was not allowed at the time. We dropped off her suitcase with her cellphone and some clothes in it. They already lost her suitcase, her cellphone, and her clothes. She has no clothes, no toothbrush, no cellphone. They do not return phone calls. The nurse's voicemail is full all the time. I spoke with the administrator, she said things would change, and they have not changed. There have a been a couple helpful staff. My mom does not like the food. That's all I know. I don't get to see it so I don't know. We only got to go in the front door. It seems like things were disorganized. It's not a very good value because they don't understand what they're providing. Everything is disorganized. They need to get more organized and they need to make sure that the family can communicate with the residents. They need to make sure what is the personal property that is sent for the residents makes it to the right room.

Dyer and nursing home staff on west side of their building allowed for my grandmother to get a hole on her back. The staff was not showering her changing her or turning her, and my grandmother was the sweetest she's not mean. When I went to talk to management they didn't seem concerned or tried to do anything. I will say some of their staff did care and really went out of their way to help her, some just didn't care they would hit her and tell her if she didn't move she would stay in bed all day. My grandmother was with it too she was sharp as a tack. But they insisted she was losing her memory and was crazy. At the end she had so many bed sores and two huge holes one on her buttocks and one on her lower back which became one big one.

The staff was duplicative and caught them lying about my family member's care several times. He never had a bedsore until he stayed at this home. Food would be spilled on the floor and left there for several days until I cleaned it up myself. If you have another option for care, don't send them here.

I visited this facility

We did go to Dyer Nursing and Rehab, but they did not have a dementia unit, so we decided against this one. I liked the looks of it, and the way they were set up. The room looked fine, large enough, and clean. The staff was very polite and very informative.

I visited this facility

I liked the Sheffield Manor. I think it was a smaller facility, but they had full apartments, and they were either one or two bedrooms. The other thing that I liked about it was that it had one price for a level of care, and I really liked that. They did allow an animal. I thought it was very, very clean and the staff was very nice to my sister-in-law. The only negative I would have about it is that the hallways werea little long to get to a particular activity place, but she would have had a hoveround to get to places. I thought they had about the right amount of activity. They have a theater and a beauty shop. I thought the price was very reasonable plus it was month to month. I didn't have to put in an initial fee to go there. I liked this place. I thought the apartment was so nice, and the closet space was wonderful.

every time I came to visit my grandmother all the staff knew me and my family! They were all aware of my grandmother's condition and always took the time to educate us on what we can do to make it easier on her. ( she was there for a year and then she was placed on hospice care) they were truly kind and caring!

I visited this facility

Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was a really beautiful place. We really like the place when we visited. We really wanted mom to be there. The staff were very helpful. However, they could not accommodate her because they were afraid she would just get out of the facility if she wanted to.
