We knew the administrators at Wilkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, so we were confident that my mother-in-law will be taken care of. The rooms were fine. In fact, there was a brand-new unit that they had constructed, so I had no problems with the rooms or the cleanliness at all. But it turned out to be a bad experience. She was at their memory care for maybe 3 months before she fell, but they didn't notify us. And then it was just one thing after another.

She got sick and had to go into psychiatric ward at the hospital in our town for 17 days because they had failed to give her medications for 4 days. So she had to be rehabilitated to a certain degree before she was able to go on and go back to another nursing home. It wasn't about overcrowding or a matter of not enough staff. It was a matter of inadequate care or attention that she had. They really need a lot of improvement.
