I am a friend or relative of a resident
There were hardly any ever people working there that were easily visible or found. The desk when you walked in rarely had anybody working at it, and there were several times that I specifically tried to find someone that it took anywhere from 5-10 minutes to find someone that worked there. There was also an unpleasant smell every time I went and visited. I didn't see much of the facility except for walking to my Grandmother's room, so I can't comment on much of the building except the small part that I saw. We ended up moving my Grandmother to another facility (we did not feel that she was getting good enough care) in the same city (I can't remember the name of it), but compared to the first one there were always people working there that could be easily found, it smelled much nicer, and it seemed in general brighter and like a happier place.

While staff members do not typically sit at the front desk, they are usually visible and available to assist with answering any questions. Our staff members are trained to be attending to and caring for our patients needs. I apologize that you were unable to find someone to speak with on that day. I feel that our staff is very approachable and accomodating to our patients and families needs. It is my regret that we were unable to speak with you so that we could address any concerns that you may have had with your Grandmother's care while she was staying with us. We feel that we can address any concern that a family may have once it is brought to our attention. Again, I apolgize for your unfortunate experience and hope that your Grandmother is doing well. My Mom has been in this facility for almost a year. She has late stage moderate dementia and is unable to care for herself in any way. I have found the staff to be professional, attentive, and caring. Mom is not a difficult patient but she does have very vivid and constant hullicnations. The staff is great in dealing with her, much better than I am. They have also been very supportive to me and take alot of tiime to talk with me and anwser questions to help me understand how to cope with Mom and keep her calm and satisfied. They do take Medicaid patients. I highly recomend this facility.
Denton Rehad and Nursing Center
It is a huge step to turn the total care of someone you love over to to strangers. It is not how your loved one ever wanted to end their days and you feel guilty and sad and like you're abandoning them. When we moved my husband's grandmother to DRNC we found we had included her in a new family. The care was extraordinarily good, kind and understanding. The staff was always happy and helpful. The medical care was wonderful and more immediate than we had expected. We were informed of every single event as it happened. "Mom" was always clean and well-kempt. Although she had advanced Dementia and Alzheimers the staff continued to try to involve her in daily activities. Her mails and hair were done every week. She came to look on the staff as close friends and family and they cried with us the day she died. I completely recommend DRNC.
