Truth or Consequences

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I recently visited a dying friend in the Gold City Rehab/Nursing facility. My friend was sleeping in her wheelchair because her bed was unusable and the staff refused to bring her own recliner from Gold City PCH. I watched a staff member treat her rudely and roughly. I attempted to speak with the Director about my concerns, however, he rudely rebuffed me. I took pictures of the filthy bathroom shared by four people, in her room I have pictures of roaches on the floor, peeling paint on the wall, feces on the bedroom floor, dirty, broken floor tiles and a window ac unit that had such filthy filters that the dirt was blowing into the room. No one should put their loved one in this horrendous facility to spend their final days.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother stayed in this nursing home before she passed away. The staff was very rough and unfriendly. This nursing home needs new staff, and CNA’s that actually love their job and WANT to be there. My mother would constantly get rashes on her bottom because they weren’t changing their residents. The meals would be cold when we would come visit, and they never helped feed her even though she couldn’t do it on her own. When I came to visit I had to do the CNA’s job , because they simply wouldn’t. They don’t do many activities with them, and the rooms smelled disgusting. The whole building needs to be torn apart and built from scratch.

My mother in Law was in this facility and they gave her good care. They were very friendly. The rooms are small but they offered activities for her to do so she was not in her room alot.

My grandmother was placed in this facility and the staff provided excellent care. Even when times were challenging with the staff they still provided the care she needed. The staff is amazing and I recommend Gold City for the excellent services they provided.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Although the rooms are small the staff is exceptional. The treat the residents like family. They have a butterbean auction for the residents who do not have money so that they can get special treats. A very "FAMILY" atmosphere!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Unfortunately I had a relative placed in this atrocious home. As soon as we found out we had my relative removed. Some belongings were not returned, their personal television was not returned, nor would they cooperate with providing a copy of medical file while there. They have been difficult with us since my relative has been removed. Nurses and employees are cranky and short fused. Do not take your loved ones here!

WARNING! WARNING! If you care about your family member Do Not leave them with this staff. Power kickers all of them. Patient's aren't washed , beds are dirty, food below standard. Patient lost 50lbs in 3 months time. Patient's are left to scream through the night. Very few are allowed outside. OMG! It does get worse. ER visits, black eyes, broken bones etc.

If you love your family member do not leave them here. The staff are rude and argumentative, They still owe us a refund from 5 months ago and refuse to give corporates phone number. I have never dealt with an organization like this and hopefully your family will not have to.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is in Gold City Convalescent. It is a good place. I really like the people there. He is in a semi-private room. He has his own closet and his own dress room, and they supplied the bed. We brought in a TV, a chair, and other stuff. They have a nice place out at the back where they have a little garden where the residents can go and smoke. It is fenced so we don't have to worry about them wandering off. However, there are so many residents there, and it seems awfully crowded. I am satisfied with their services.

I have a parent here only because it was close to home. It never really smells clean... It's an old facility.. Staff is always changing Weekend staff is never the same, and my parent is never taken out if bed. Most of the time the residents are just parked up front in their chairs and left there.

In the short time my parent was there the place went thru 3 directors, over all very unfriendly staff! my mother was there for over 2 years. Poor meals were served. Residents are not given a shower very often and . the facility is very old and smell of fecal matter. The furniture in there looks and smells like it is 50 years old. residents are unsupervised and not well cared for. I would never recommend this place to anyone..

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My parent is in Gold City, and he likes it there. The rooms are small. He shares it with another man, but the people there are very nice to him. They’re very dedicated to their jobs, and they gave me good feedback on how he is doing. It’s clean, and smells better than the other place. The food is also better than the other place he was in. The security is okay, and you have to have a code to get in-and-out.

I visited this facility

The amenities are pretty basic, the staff was pleasent and helpful. The facility has gone through many positive upgrades and changes within the last serveral years. The facility seems safe and the residents seem to not be able to get out and wander around outside, doors have locks and key punch code pads. The smell of the facility is strong though, it smells heavily of urine. There seemed to be lots of staff on hand.

I visited this facility

I visited this particular nursing home around Christmas time. My church decided to visit, and attempt to bring some cheer into the atmosphere. However, upon entering the building, we immediately wanted to leave. The smell was awful. I can't even describe it. The staff was very unfriendly towards us, and even asked us to hurry on with the caroling. Patients were wondering around the building, unsupervised. It will definitely not earn a recommendation from me.
