I was released from the hospital to this nursing home. They were not ready to except me, the bed wasn't made and they had no idea I was coming, they said. My car there was marginal at best. The car light could be on for 45 minutes before anyone would come and see me. I had two great nurses while I was there but that was it. Most of the staff could care less about patients . If you love your family member, don't let them be sent here.

This center was excellent for my wife who was there for rehab. The staff was friendly, caring and concerned for their patients. There was always an RN or CNA checking on her regularly. The facility was clean and well cared for. The food was good and a varied diet not like the typical hospital food. Can't say enough for the way my wife was cared for.

My mother was in Desert Cove Nursing Center for rehab. They were fantastic. Great staff, central location, great communication, excellent medical care and physical therapy. She was there for one week. She was in a private room with a beautiful view, private bathroom, and nice furnishings. There was a friendly and caring staff, and they had excellent Covid precautions. All visitors must wear face mask and face shield upon entrance and temperature is taken. I'm sure they have activities, but strict quarantine is observed during COVID times. There's not a lot of the activities as they usually are, and I think patients have to stay in their rooms unless they're off to therapy. There are no parties going on in nursing homes right now. I'm glad that they are taking these precautions. My mother didn't like the meals; but she's very particular, so I'm not gonna hold them against it. I saw the food, and it looked nutritious and adequate. There were two stations: a skilled side and a long-term care side. There's a central physical therapy department, administrative rooms, a dining room, and big wide hallways. It's clean and odor free. They've got friendly staff and quality care. During this Covid time, there aren't any congregate activities going on with patients. There were quite a few restrictions, including visitors and times. It was covered by Medicare. They were Medicare certified.

do not place or let your loved one be placed here! they do not care for patients. staff are not nice and man handle you. Don't be fooled by the private rooms, they are nice. but not worth your loved ones sanity!

I naively placed my Mother at Desert Cove in Chandler. Recently she was transferred to another facility after 2 CNA’s dropped her while she was mid-air using a Hoyer lift. She fell backwards landing on her head and right shoulder. To add insult to injury they did not take the initiative to ensure that an appointment was made with a Specialist for her injuries as per Emergency Room Doctors instructions. Due to the negligence of them not properly securing her into the Hoyer, she sustained injuries, including a fractured clavicle. You would hope that they would ensure her health and well being after such a traumatic incident, quite the opposite. Interviewing her and subtly blaming her for their negligence less than 24 hours later. Our request for an immediate transfer was once again delayed due to their inability to property administer a Covid test in a timely manner. Furthermore, in the 10 months she was in their care her health drastically declined. She was subjected to Nurses that negatively spoke openly within her ear shot of not only her own care but other Patients. She contracted COVID-19 weeks after they shut down their facility to visitors and made the news for their large number of cases and deaths. Excuse after excuse was made in regards to any questions or concerns I had during this time. Please do not put your loved ones under the care of Desert Cove. When all is said and done they do NOT care about their Patients, nor do they care of the families that are absolutely devastated to know of their mistreatment of a beloved family member. Do your research. Ask questions. Be prepared to be your family members strongest advocate if you decide to place them here. Please do not assume they have their best interest at heart, at the end of the day it will end in one lone phone call done over speaker phone and legal talk to cover their negligence and dismal attempt to take care of our medically fragile loved one.

Some kind staff, but horrible quality of care, multiple privacy violations, understaffed, extensive wait time when assistance is needed, depressing. Keep searching for better care. The rooms are private, which is a plus, but staff interaction with patients is talking around, and not to them.
