My mom stayed at Nhc Healthcare - Anderson for rehab. In the very beginning, it was quite a few obstacles, very disappointing. We had to have 2 or 3 different meetings with the social worker and staff. Mom was not very well-kept, and we had to request that she be bathed. There was a long wait when she needed to go to the bathroom, and then it was a cleanup job. The staff was very rude to her. But once we brought that to their attention, some things did change. It got better, but, sadly, it had to be brought up for it to get better. The grounds are beautiful, they keep them well. I have found out that what they offer is different depending on what section you are in. With my mom being in the rehab, they offered a few things through the week, but not as much as the other part of the facility. There was bingo and I think they did a few crafts from time to time. The food wasn't so good, mom wasn't happy with it. With the staff, it was very different from when my mom first started and when she left. When she first started, they were rude, and part of it could have been my mom adjusting. There was some rudeness, you could ask questions and some of them wouldn't answer. These were the aides; badges were turned around where you couldn't see who you were talking to. When that was addressed in one of the meetings, that did change. They became more interactive and pleasant. I don't know what was going on, whether they were short-staffed at the time. It caused a lot of pressure on the aides to have to deal with so many patients at one time, so I'm sure that's stressful. But it did get resolved and things did get better. When Mom left there, things were on a good note. If there was more communication between staff and physical therapy. The nursing staff and aides were very much different from the physical therapy staff. They did not work together. Matter of fact, one of the nurses told me, "No, we do our thing, and they do their thing and we do not cross." So, if it's going to be a rehab center, I would think everybody would be working together to implement that rehab.

My Dad was there after his hospital stay. He was at NHC for 64 days and ended up worse than when he went in. He ended up back in the hospital but only ended up there because we had to insist that he needed to go was he was severely dehydrated and a horrible UTI among other things. The medical care there is horrible. Now he’s at another facility and has made vast improvements in half the time. If you can’t do everything for yourself there you are in trouble. Please don’t send your loved ones there.

My mom is in the nursing home at NHC HealthCare - Anderson. I'm very pleased. It seems that they have enough caretakers to take care of the people that are in there and personal attention was given when needed. They're pureeing her food; I didn't have a meal there. They play bingo, they have movies in the evening, and they also do crafts.

I was in there for a month , from starting of Sept untill the end of sept , I was treated bad by the staff and the head person , I could not get up and walk , they said I was faking , they wouldnt give me food or water , by the time my Dr got me out of that place I had double pneumonia in my left lung and it was collapsed and had a blood clot in my right lung , I was anemic from no food , they had to give me blood at hospital and I'm still on medication for it , I went through 7 surgeries to keep me from dying , now today 2-24-21 they called my emergency contact and said they were submitting a 600.00 bill agaisnt my estate that's right they thought I was dead , I wouldnt put my worst enemy in that place . They threatened me that they would take me in front of a judge and have me declared unstable and be turned over to them , then I would see what I'd do and not do .

My mother-in-law is getting rehab at National Healthcare in Anderson (Nhc Healthcare Anderson). It's a very typical rehab facility but we've been happy with them. They play bingo and a few other things. The place is clean and the people are friendly. They have done everything we expected them to do.
