I am/was a resident of this facility

I moved into Senior Star at Woodland Terrace. It is a very nice place. Everyone is very kind, very helpful, very patient, and professional, yet they make you feel like family. They have been outstanding. They try to accommodate everyone in the best way they can. Basically, the food is good. They try to deal with the residents' special dietary needs. They have games, dominoes, puzzles, coloring, painting, quilting, crocheting, exercises, and religious services. They have people that come in and sing. They take the residents on outings or to the grocery store. My apartment is clean, painted, and it has a wood floor. I cannot reach any cabinet in the kitchen area, but they've tried to accommodate me by getting me something else, and it's coming along just fine. They've had to do a few little things in the restroom, putting up another bar or so, and putting something there for me to hang on to for the tub, getting in and out. They try their best to help everyone here.

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was a very nice facility. They had a lot of amenities, some big meeting rooms, a lot of books, and a lot of activities area. They have a nice foyer and dining area. It's three stories tall, and very close to all the shopping experiences and restaurants you might need. It's right on one of the busiest streets in coastal Oklahoma. You can go anywhere you want to within about a mile of your house; location is very important. We walked around and it was nice. The staff was very polite, I had a nice tour. Their staff was very polite. They have a very extensive activity calendar. The person who toured me around was one of the directors of activities, and they have a wide variety of activities. I don't know how many people they have there, but they said it's 80 to 100 rooms. There were a lot of activities for them. They have craft rooms and physical activity rooms like an exercise room. There's one where you exercise in a bicycle, and you can like go anywhere around the world. The apartments were nice enough and clean, but smaller compared to another place I saw. Everyone had their own individual greeting at their door. They have wide hallways, good access, and nicely carpeted interior. The painting was fine, it's just on the small side for me.

Provider Response

Thank you for your 4-star review Al. Thank you for sharing the details of your tour and being so complimentary. Activities are a focus for Senior Star, because it's where we can get together learn new things, have fun and friendships. We are grateful you would take the time to share your experience at Villa Ventura. We believe that our people are our strength and our promise is 'to do for each other with love'. We would love to include you and your family in that promise.

My mother will be moving into Senior Star at Woodland Terrace. The main reason that we moved there was it had the biggest living space, and also she knows two people that live there that went to her church. It's really clean and really nice. They had a special going on with one-bedrooms, which was our choice. I stopped by there one day last week because my mom got a table and chairs that she wanted to take, and I wanted to make sure that there'd be a place for them. They were still working on the apartment. Everybody was so friendly and nice. It was really nice. There's quite a few people, and the chef even came in and brought us some cookies to take home with us. The dining area was nice. I think they have different times for people to come down, and they have seating already assigned because of COVID and everything. We didn't try any of the other food, but her friend said that it was really good. They have a courtyard in the middle of a complex, and it's very nice, well-kept, and maintained. There were some benches and stuff out front if you want to go out there and sit in the shade or something. The chocolate chip cookies were really good.

Provider Response

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was very nice and everybody was very friendly. There were lots of residents out in about, and a lot of people out having breakfast together. That's probably the place that we choose. The staff was super helpful. They had a lot of activities going on while we were there. They do trips out for lunch and shopping trips a couple of times a week, they have entertainment several times a week, art classes, and bingo. It was very kept up and very nice, all the areas that we've seen were very nice.

Provider Response

Thank you for your 5-star review Suzie! We are grateful for the time you have taken to share your experience at Senior Star. We love hearing that you are looking to choose Senior Star Woodland Terrace for your senior living community.

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was very nice. The only thing was that I didn't really look at any of their apartments because none of them had a patio. I'd like a patio to be able to sit outside. Other than that, everything was fine. They were very friendly. It was nice and clean. The only other bad thing is that it's on a busy street, and my kids probably wouldn't come visit me there because it's a busy street. The person that welcomed me there was very nice.

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was inviting but the location was the turn off. We found it relatively easy but we couldn't get out of the place to exit because of the traffic that was on 71st. If we have any visitors and they have to wait on traffic, it would be dangerous just to exit the premises. They had a nice menu and activities and their facilities were well kept. The tenants that were there chatted with us, and they touted it as an enjoyable and safe place to live. We got some cookies, which was a nice touch. They were warm when they gave them to us at the hour that we went there. The staff followed up with me a number of times. She was good and we like her.

My Dad recently moved to Woodland Terrace and what a blessing!!! We had looked at other Senior Independent Living Facilities -- but there is something so special about Woodland Terrace -- the PEOPLE!!!!! ALL of the staff is amazing, helpful, caring and they all go above and beyond. My Dad is loving his new home. He loves the food, the activities and all the people -- staff and residents. We couldn't have made a more perfect choice!

For my mother her 1 bedroom was just good for her since her mobility was very limited. She saw a 1 bedroom that was bigger and wanted to move. The staff was exceptional from maintenance to the Executive Director. My mom especially liked and interacted with Emma, the 1st person you meet when the door opens. The Salon was my mother's favorite place to visit. She really liked the lady who did her hair. It was always a highlight for her. She did not really participate in activities, much to my disappointment. There were many different activities and events offered. One that my mom did enjoy on occasions was the elementary school choir sang for the residents and sometimes when there was music played live downstairs. She is now in longterm care at another facility and she misses Woodland Terrace. I do to!

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was a nice facility. We were impressed with the workers. We had a really good visit. The rooms were nice. They were putting in a new pool area and they had a theater room. They were in the middle of doing some construction. It was superb. The staff was great, and they had a bunch of good activities.

My dad is in Senior Star. We like it, and the people there are very nice and friendly. It is clean. The nurse helps him with the medication. They seem to care about my dad. We are really happy. He has been there a year, and he will be two years in January. My dad did not like the food, but he does not like anyone’s food, but my mother’s. He does not like chicken, and they have a lot of chicken and fish. He is going to be 88, and he has congestive heart failure; he is not supposed to eat that stuff, but the food is good. They have bingo, and they take people at least once a week to different places for breakfast and lunch. They have church services and party. They have cocktail hour. They have things for holidays, father’s day, and mother’s day, and the families are invited. They have movie night. They have a bus that takes them to Wal-Mart, Target and to grocery stores. They also take them to various senior centers so they can do things.

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was very good. The people and rooms seemed nice. I liked just about everything about it. It was a very good experience. I would highly recommend this place. I saw people eating, and it looked like they were doing a good job with certain people. It looked like they had good food, too. I thought that it was a good dining experience.

Senior Start at Woodland Terrace was really a nice place, but the little studios were really small. They reminded me more of a hotel room. It was very clean. They had a spa, a gym, and a salon. The dining area was nice.

Everybody seemed very content and happy at Woodland Terrace. They had a nice entryway and a nice dining area. The apartments seemed to be sufficient. The person that gave me the tour was very knowledgeable and polite, and they seemed to be happy in their positions. The people seemed very content. They came and went, and some were out walking. The lounge area had some people in it, they were talking to each other, and there was a table where some people were playing some cards when I was there.

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was very nice. The staff was also very nice. We got follow-up calls from them, I explained all that happened, and they were just happy that my mom found somewhere. The dining area was very nice. There was no odor at all. It was very well-maintained, and they had a lot of activities.

We put mom over at Woodland Terrace. Everybody was so friendly even down to the kitchen staff. The pastor that we know did a bible study there. We got an apartment that’s right across from the activity room. She was participating in exercises and all these things she wasn’t doing before. They have Bingo, they have various parties, movies, and crafts for thanksgiving. Mom is really happy with it. They take them to the doctor, shopping, to the post office, and they will even take mom to her church on Sundays. They have nurses on staff, and they’re available for everybody that needs help.

I chose Woodland Terrace for two main reasons. It was very close to my home and they're locally owned. They have a lot of staff members with longevity, meaning the staff has been there a long time, which tells them they're satisfied with the organization or else they wouldn't stay. That means it's well-run.

My brother-in-law is 95 years old has a little bit of dementia. Woodland Terrace took care all of his needs. It's a nice place. It's in more of a business area rather than in a community. But 71st Street is very nice. It's one of the main shopping centers in east Tulsa. The food is very good. They have a dietitian and the cook is very good. I've eaten there several times. They have a lot of activities for their seniors. They have bands that come in as well as a preacher; they have all kinds of birthday parties and activities for the seniors there.

Senior Star at Woodland Terrace is the place I liked the best because it’s smaller. This is beautiful. They have one and two bedrooms and a studio apartment. There are things going on. The staff is nice. I had lunch there, the food and dining area were pretty good. The best thing about this place is it’s next door to my favorite restaurant.

Senior Star was not so good. I didn't like the smell of it. It smelled like a nursing home and urine. When we were there, they were ready to serve supper and I didn't like the way they made all the seniors that were in wheelchairs and walkers wait in line instead of letting them go in and sit down and wait for the meals. There was a long line of people. However, the people seemed happy enough. They didn't offer us a meal. But they gave us cookies before we leave.

Provider Response

We thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your visit. We sincerely apologize for your initial feel upon arriving at our community. The Senior Star family prides ourselves on providing excellence experiences day in and day out. It would seem on this day we missed the mark. I found a place for my dad in Woodland Terrace. He's been living there for two months. I had two referrals from very good friends of mine who have placed their loved ones there. It's a fabulous place, it's not brand new but it's kept up to date. They were very good in helping that it would be a good fit and it made me more at ease. The people are fantastic there. They went over and above and I couldn't be happier. There was clearly a more welcoming vibe in Woodland
