I visited this facility

Brookdale Summerfield was very nice. It was like a very nice hotel quality for everything that they had. The staff was extremely personable and gave me a guided tour. Every single person came by and said hello. There were friendly greetings throughout. The facility was immaculate. Everything was clean. The only thing that I saw that would be poor was the chairs in the dining hall. Some of its covers were coming off. They explained to me that when COVID hit, they had sprayed a cleaning fluid to sterilize them and it caused the furniture to come apart. They were in the process of replacing those chairs in the dining room. Other than that, everything was gorgeous and immaculate. Everything was very new and beautifully set in a nice location. Anyone who looked out of any of the rooms had a nice view. It was well set up.

I visited this facility

Brookdale Summerfield was very nice and the young lady who gave me the tour was very nice. It's just a little bit further from where I want to be. It looks like a country estate as you drive up to it, it's very pretty. I saw a few of the residents, and saw how the people who live there are, and they seemed very content and pleased. Everything was very clean, and the people that worked there were not overly friendly, but friendly. The residents had smiles on their faces, and you wouldn't have that if it wasn't a nice place. The staff was friendly, very courteous, and it didn't feel like they were interrupting you or you were rushed. They were very nice. The facility was very nice. We saw a game room and a library where they had a computer. They had another room with a fireplace on and people were in there, and you just heard nice talking, and it was very nice.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We moved into Brookdale Summerfield. It's very, very nice. Everyone is wonderful, they can't do enough for you. We have a nice apartment, a two bedroom, two bath apartment. It's very clean and nice. The staff is wonderful. Everything is clean. They have a beautiful dining room, and I really like it. The food is good, you have a choice if you don't like what they have on the menu, so they get you something else. It's just like going into a restaurant. They have a menu every day. There's exercise classes, social activities, and I think they had a chorus coming in. They have a lot to do.

My mom is in Brookdale in her own apartment. She is not happy with the food. They have a library, social trips, concerts, and a lot of activities going on. I am overall pleased with Brookdale.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Brookdale Summerfield has been absolutely wonderful. The food is also wonderful. The staff is caring, giving, and not afraid to go the extra mile. If there’s a concern, you call them; they respond quickly. One time I couldn’t reach my mother on the phone, I called the desk and she happened to have fallen and gotten help right away. They have a policy of checking on the residents if they do not see them morning or evening time for dinner. We have signed papers that the staff is allowed to go into the room to make sure the residents are safe. Each resident has a safety monitor so if anything happens, they can push a button. I really felt bad about having to move her due to the cost but then they worked it out with me. They really have been very good. They have many different activities. They have bingo, cards, and Wii bowling. They have field trips to stores, to restaurants, and to the apple orchards. They have entertainment come in every week and they sing for them on Wednesday nights. They have a special theme every month. It’s Cuban month this month so they’re doing meals that have some Cuban flair. They usually have a slide presentation explaining about Cuba and many religious services up there and my mother signs up for every one of them. She is on a wheelchair and they do have a bus that accommodates wheelchairs so it doesn’t stop her from going. The bus will also take her out to where her doctor is. My mother has been there for 7 years. Right now, she’s in a 1-bedroom. They seemed to have much newer carpeting and walls painted. I know they do refurbishing; they’ve done it twice since she’d been there.

I visited this facility

The Hearth on James seemed clean, and it was a pleasant atmosphere. The person who gave me the tour was very professional, very helpful, and even called and followed up with me, so I was very impressed. I visited a room with two of the residents that were there. They were neighbors and were just chatting and invited me in and showed me the rooms and were very welcoming. And they were like, "Oh we can't wait for your mom to come and meet her." The rooms were really nice, and their price was probably one of the better prices in the city.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The people are very friendly at Villas of Summerfield. My in-laws have a one-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen, a bathroom,0 and a living area. The place seems very clean and very safe. We are very happy with it.
