Rooms are nice size but kitchen cabinets very limited. Only one drawer. Had to purchase another cabinet from Amazon to house my kitchen items. Liked my big patio. Was told this property was completely non smoking but encountered a resident smoking on property. Reported to management and they moved them to another building but they are still smoking on property near the laundry room I use. Wish lunch had more healthy options for diabetics. Kitchen staff is great. Rent raised within 3 months of moving in which is hard on someone with limited income. Wish they would have told me before.

I toured LifeStream at Youngtown. We liked the setup. The rooms were big. The people seemed very happy there. The staff was very pleasing and super nice. They had activities. We didn't get into them a whole lot, but they had a good list of stuff that they did. The location was also prime. They actually gave us a free meal there and it was delicious. Everything was clean.

We liked LifeStream at Youngtown. They only served lunch, and we did have lunch and it was good. The thing I liked most about it was it was a single apartment. They weren't on top of each other. I did speak to the residents, and they said they liked it there. The staff who gave us the tour was great. He was a nice guy. They had amenities, like bingo and poker. The dining area was OK. It was a little small, but not that bad. They didn't have a menu. It went by this little card thing that they had each day. They only served one meal a day. The soup was good, but the pasta could have been better. Some things needed to be cleaned up like the doggy park. But other than that, it was fine. They would do doctor appointments at a certain distance, like 10 miles or something. And then I think they would take you over to the senior citizen or something like that. They didn't have a pool. The outside of the building looked good. They kept it up.

The apartments at LifeStream at Youngtown were spacious and it was in a lovely area, but they were not doing enough normal maintenance to make the place look presentable. As soon as you drive up, you see the fascia boards peeling and sun-rotted and so on. So, that was off our list. The person who gave the tour was helpful. He did his job. We didn't talk a lot of numbers because in our mind, it was already a no and he probably figured that out. He wasn't stellar, but he did what he was supposed to do and he's friendly, kind, and answered questions. The buildings were scattered across the campus and you'd get one meal a day. For that, you'd have to walk outside. I always refer to the summer we just had and I don't think 80-year-olds should be walking. The dining area was also their craft area and meeting area. It was multipurpose. I think it would be fine. It just didn't seem to offer as much as the other facility I visited.

LifeStream at Youngtown was more like putting my dad right back in the situation that he's in, living within a manufactured home community. It was more of an isolation than inclusion. So, he didn't particularly like that one. I think the director was fairly new, but he did the best that he could do. The facilities seemed to be more outdated than updated.

I chose LifeStream at Youngtown because of the price. The staff here is all great and very helpful. They care about the people that live here. I've had a great experience so far. There's a ton of things to do every day. They've got a club for those of us that like to knit or crochet (they meet once a week), groups that like to play games -- I love their games and I'm going to be very active in that group -- and they go out once a week with their minibus. They take you to area stores and every week is a different store, so you get out a little bit more and socialize. My room is called the Deluxe Studio. Everything in it is very nice. I can decorate it in any way I care to. I like it. It's not too big, but it's not too small. Housekeeping comes in every other week. They'll do the floors and clean the kitchen if need be. You do your own laundry, which is not a problem. It's clean and it comes with a cable TV. I also have a kitchenette where I can cook. So, it's extremely nice here. I'm very pleased.
