I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has been at Heritage Place for two years and I couldn't be happier with the facility! The staff, at all levels, are warm, friendly, and I know most of them by name. Mom's room is spacious. There is a full calendar with a variety of activities throughout the day. I moved mom there during COVID, and the staff does a great job of navigating through keeping residents healthy. Mom doesn't like the food much, but she doesn't like ANY food right now, so I will not count that against Heritage Place - the menu and food look good to me.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was at Heritage Place of Boerne. It was good and we were very grateful for their service at the time. Mom was unable to live by herself with an injury that she had and while she had a boot on her foot, she just couldn't function at home without lots of extra help. It was very beneficial to her during that time, but mom just did not want to stay because once her foot healed up, she was ready to go back home and be comfortable and in familiar surroundings. I know that they helped put her boot on her every morning and helped with bathing and daily meals were provided. That's pretty much what she needed at that time with some assistance, bathing, dressing, and meals. Mom complained about one or two of the staff but the ones I had contact with were all very good especially the director. The facility was very nice and very clean. Because of Covid, there were not a lot of activities. she enjoyed bingo and a couple of other things. I think they were just starting back on doing some of their other activities. I was never present during any of those times. The value for money is good.

I visited this facility

The people at Heritage Place of Boerne were caring and knowledgeable. They showed us all their options. They were very helpful and friendly, and they've made contact by phone three times since my visit because they just want to keep in touch. It's very clean and they have activities. The rooms are very nice. Depending on what you are needing, they have different sizes, so they're very accommodating for the person you're trying to put in there. In terms of location, all of my mother's doctors are right there in Boerne, so it's less travel and wear and tear on her.

I visited this facility

We went to look at the assisted living at Heritage Place of Boerne. It's smaller, more casual, very comfortable, very clean, and very nice. It is a more comfortable, very homey type of facility. The rooms are very nice. They have really nice vinyl-plank flooring in them, and they have been updated. I really liked it for the homey feel. It has much more of a comfortable homey feel to it, and staff are excellent. The people we met were all very friendly. They have a beautiful dining room with huge windows and a beautiful view. It is a really nice place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into Heritage Place of Boerne. It seems relatively small, with thirty-some residents, and it's very clean. None of the residents in the past year has had COVID, and the cost is very reasonable. The unit is a studio-plus apartment, and the layout is pretty standard. You walk in and have a wide hallway with a closet on your right, then a little kitchen area with a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink, and then it goes out to its own AC unit. The room opens up to the left with a large area for your furniture and bed, and then off that, there is a bathroom with a shower. We brought my mom's furniture. Because of COVID, there are limited activities, but she has started going to a couple of exercise groups, and she also plays bingo. She likes the food, too. From what I've seen, the grounds and the building itself are very well cared for. During this last snow storm we had, they definitely had problems getting staff in because it is on a hill, but the five people that were with the residents did a great job. I'm very impressed with the staff. Compared to the other places that I got prices on, they came out number one. We're looking for value because my mom's funds are limited, and so we chose Heritage Place. I'm very pleased.

Other

My mother in law was a resident there for just a few months until her death. The staff treated us all like family. They went beyond doing their jobs to being selfless servants who showed kindness and compassion in multiple ways every day. What a blessing it was to get to know each of them. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone! It is a beautiful building filled with the sweetest people you will ever meet.

I visited this facility

Mom would be moving in Heritage Place Boerne next week. Everybody that I dealt with so far had been very thorough, very professional, very understanding, patient, and helpful. What we liked most was there was a pretty good variety of different sizes of apartments. Actually, we were going into a small one, but we had an option to move her to a larger space should she wanted it. We were invited to have lunch in our initial visit there, and the food was outstanding. Their dining area was very nice. It was in a restaurant. There were menus on the tables; you ordered and they brought the food to the table. It was very nice, and also there was a very nice view outside. I knew they did outings. I had been there on 2 occasions to visit. One day, they were doing coffee and donuts in the activity room while playing games. The second time I was there, they were having movie day. They were all together watching movie and eating popcorn. They also had lots of local or area musicians that came in and did brief performances to the residents. It is beautiful, and the first thing that you would notice was how wonderfully clean it smelled when you walked in the door. Every time I had been there, I had never seen a cleaning person actually doing it, but everything was so fresh, and there were flowers. It was very well appointed.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother-in-law is very comfortable at Heritage Place. The place is quite pretty. The care seems to be very, very good. We are really quite happy with it. Their work ethic is excellent. It is just a very busy place. Their people are just busy all the time. The physical structure itself is nice. Everything is on one level. The halls are all interconnected. There are living rooms with libraries and television sets at the end of the halls. For somebody like my mother-in-law, the place is ideally suited because she is doing a lot of walking, and when the weather is bad, she can walk inside. When the weather is good, she can go outside and walk a bit. Heritage Place is convenient for us, and it is very attractive.

I visited this facility

I just walked in and had the feeling that this was the right place for my mom. When I first visited, all the residents said how much they liked it there. It smelled good, it's a pretty environment, and it's cozy looking. My mom really likes it there.
