Lakeside Retirement Home

This place was very nice. They have beautiful lawns and walking paths. The staff seems nice, helpful, and patient. What I like about this facility is that they have a pool and have warm water aerobics and I really love that. But it’s just beyond our price range so we consider some other option. But generally, this is a place that is really recommendable.

Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with this facility. Everything was kept clean, there were MANY activities for residents to participate in, and for the most part everyone seemed quite happy. The staff were always helpful and patient (a quality much needed when working in a nursing home) and always quick to fulfill a resident or family member's request. A particular detail that I found to be fairly outstanding was the fact that this facility had a shuttle that would take residents who were unable to drive to go shopping, visit entertainment facilities, etc. However, while the majority of employees were outstanding, there were several nurses who certainly did not seem to be "doing their best" so to speak. These particular nurses seemed far too nonchalant about their job and sometimes would even flat out decline a resident's request. This type of behavior from an employee seems unacceptable, as all people working there should put the care of the residents as an utmost priority.
