This facility is located in a nice area of McMinnville. The facility is very nice and whenever I pull in to the parking lot I just get a good feeling about being there, and as cheesy as this sounds, there is this like this happy energy all around the place. I don't know if it is the beautiful landscaping or the architecture or just knowing all of the good that is awaiting me inside. For some reason, just being at this facility makes me feel happy and comfortable. I love visiting the residents here, they are always so talkative and cheerful, they always have tons of new stories to tell, and they are very open people as they always like to catch me up on what's happening in their lives. They are just very laid-back, happy people. They also love it when you bring them cookies or mini muffins, do that and they will be your friend for life!

The staff team there are some of the nicest, kindest people. They always greet me with friendly smiles. I watch them interact with the residents and their families every time I visit, and I always see them treat the residents with such patience and respect. The staff members are very good in communicating with the families as well, they know everyone's name and they know which families belong with what resident. They always encourage the family members to stay closely involved in their loved one's care. They are also very good at keeping the families informed of any changes or important matters regarding the residents.

On my last visit, I spoke with a resident who had moved into the facility a few weeks earlier. She told me that when her family brought her in on her move-in day, she had her bags and belongings that she wanted to keep with her. She said she was very nervous, but that she was immediatly approached by a member of staff and a couple of residents. She said that the residents introduced themselves to her and told her about an activity that was getting ready to begin. She said that the staff member and the residents helped her take her stuff to her apartment and then they were off. She said they went to the activity which was a bingo game, which she had never played in her entire life, but fell in love with it. Then they went to eat lunch together and they followed lunch with hanging out in one of the common areas to get to know one another better. She said by the time she got back to her apartment she was so tired! She organized what she could and got ready for bed. She said that it was then she realized that she was no longer nervous, she said thanks to these wonderful ladies, she didn't have time to be nervous. They kept her so busy that first day that all of her anxiety was gone. She said all three of them are now the best of friends and that she has made many more friends since moving in to the facility. She said that now she does the same thing when new residents move in. She said it is her way of paying it forward. She said moving into an assisted living facility can be one of the hardest things a person can go through, but that the staff and her friends made it so easy for her, and she wants to do the same now for others.

The Villas of McMinnville is an awesome facility and I always look forward to visiting. The people (residents and staff) there are what makes this facility a home, and they are always excited and happy to invite someone new in to their community and family.
