I am a friend or relative of a resident
From my experience, Atria Woodbridge is at least acceptable for seniors. My advisor is now in his 70s. He has no child. If no such a facility, he would have to stay in his house lonely. But now, he has friendly people to take care of him. And more important, he also got an opportunity to develop new friendships with other seniors. I think the staff there is superb. They are really considerate to the needs of seniors, and really patient. They are willing to spend a whole hour to talk with the seniors!The facility is good. But it cannot be customized as we often do at our house. The bedroom is good and comfortable. It provides excellent common facilities, the dining area is perfect. It seems they provide food in all 24 hours. It also has a good library although the selection of books is a little bit limited. One problem is the furniture and room design are super old style. My advisor doesn't like it. I think they can change some design to make it more modern.
I am a friend or relative of a resident
My mother in law was comfortable here, so we chose this facility for her. It is in a quiet location with less noise since it is not middle of the city. It has less ground, very clean, spacious not overcrowded. It is also a 3-story laid out building.
She stays in a medium sized studio apartment. It has a kitchenette, refrigerator and microwave. She has her own bathroom inside her apartment too. It's similar to a hotel room. If she wants to eat, she will just go to the dining room. She can eat anytime and choose from the menu. I haven't eaten there yet but some residents there say the food is great.
The staff will help her if she needs their service. For instance, if she wants to transfer from the bed to her chair, they will assist her. However, she is not in that situation yet, she can do most things on her own. Some activities this assisted living facility offer include games, exercises and movies. There's also an area where they can just hang out and do puzzles.
We really like this place, there's nothing I can think of that this place needs to work out in order to provide better service to their consumers. They're doing a great job.
