"Feels like home!" The best words you can hear when visiting your mom! My mom is 96 years old, in very good health. WestRidge provides meals in a lovely dinning room and the coffee pot is always on. The are staff available but not hovering! They provide so many "off campus" opportunites! A comfortable van/bus takes residents to concerts, shopping, and apple orchards! The staff will also alert our family if they see that mom is having any problems. At one time mom was very capable with her computer, sending emails etc. Now that her vision is impaired, she is not able to do that. I am so thankful for her Presto machine! Our family is able to send pictures and notes anytime! We are all very thankful for that as most live out of town. Yes, WestRidge is the best place for my mom to call, "home."

Westridge is a pleasant, well maintained apartment complex for retired and elderly residents. It is in a convenient location, close to shopping and hospitals, as well as Minneapolis attractions. The apartments are available in many sizes and floor plans, all of them very appealing. (My mother has lived in four differnt apartments there in the last seven years.) The dining room is very inviting, with a fireplace and piano at one end. There is a library and activity/community area, along with underground parking, if needed. The coffee is on in the dining room in the morning, and residents can also have lunch, or a larger dinner each day. Meals are available as often as as the resident wishes, and 10 meals are required to be purchased by each resident each month. This gets everyone out and socializing with each other a few times a week. The staff is friendly and helpful, and arrange for field trips to various locations, as well as multiple shopping, banking, and library excursions each week. One thing I noticed the first time I was in the the building is that halls are wide and well lit, which doesn't give you the closed in feeling you experience in many apartment buildings.
I would recommend Westridge to anyone who is making the transition from house to apartment.
