We liked Holiday Walnut Woods. I think it would be a great setting for my sister, unfortunately, she's just resistant right now. The rooms were very nice, very spacious, and very clean. The staff was extremely welcoming, and they provided a lot of activities for the residents. You have to bring your own furniture, but a refrigerator is provided. There are laundry facilities, but it's down the hall.

Respite generally in most cases is only 30 days and they charge you a small fee, but at Holiday Walnut Woods, they're charging three months respite, which is due upfront, plus charging an additional fee, which is the same price as what the room would be. You're not going to find people that are going to pay that. They used to do 30 days, but they just recently changed it. It would be an ideal place. I'd choose it in a heartbeat, especially since the facility was very nice and because of the three meals a day. It is an older community. The rooms were nice, but they don't have granite (countertops) or stainless-steel (appliances) and they don't have stoves. You have to go to the cafeteria to eat. I saw the staff exercising in the exercise room with the residents at that time. It's a clean and nice place. I'd consider it, but I didn't like the three months respite. The staff during the tour was great. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they're sit-down meals.

I visited the Holiday Walnut Woods. I liked the friendliness, and the hospitality, and everything seemed very comfortable. I went for lunch, so I met a lot of the kitchen staff as well as a lot of the residents. It was just very inviting. They do a hot meal at lunchtime and so that's good. It was a chicken barbecue, and they had a vegetable I didn't like, but aside from that, it was fine. I saw the small studios, it's in a triangle shape, I saw the larger studio that's in a square, and then I saw the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom. They were all excellent. They have handicapped showers or tubs, a kitchenette, and a nice bathroom. The staff was excellent.

I toured Walnut Woods. I was very impressed with Angela, who is the executive director, and she conducted my tour. I had lunch with her in the facility while the senior residents were enjoying lunch. Lunch was very nice. Angela was very pleasant, informative, clearly very passionate about her job, and excited about what she does. She explained the facility to me, and also, I explained to her the situation with my aunt like what's going on as far as me trying to find a place for her. I found the facility clean. I was shown a model one-bedroom, but then I was also taken to two other one-bedrooms that weren't furnished, of course, like the model. I saw a two-bedroom and two efficiencies. Angela explained the price breakdowns of each one. I found the staff very friendly. While we were touring, one of the things that impressed me is, that after lunch we went to a basket-weaving class that was taught by a retired fourth-grade teacher, and there were about nine residents in the room. One in particular, who they consider an ambassador because she is willing to kind of acclimate to new residents, she was very friendly and very happy about being at the residence, and she talked to me. And then as we were walking through the halls, we came upon different residents that were there that were not planted, and Angela, the executive director, knew everyone by name, and she talked to them and introduced me. I asked them if they were happy there, and everyone that I talked to was, and they also encouraged me to bring my aunt. It seemed very authentic and very genuine. Nobody had pre-planned what they were going to say or knew what Angela was going to ask them. The youngest resident there is 59 years old, and he was one of the ones that we ran into, and the oldest resident is 101. I found the visit very informative, and I was kind of impressed with the place. It is a far distance for me. It took me 38 minutes to get there. There are other places much closer to me and my aunt, but I would consider it as a place for her to consider if I can only convince her. The facility has a lot like there's a beauty shop, there's a little store for the residents, and there's a very nice library.

Walnut Woods was a real nice place. I don't have anything against it. I'm just not ready for that. I like to cook my own stuff and things like that and you couldn't do it there. I couldn't eat in the room. I had to go to the cafeteria and I'm used to getting up and eating my breakfast early. I have a restrictive diet, and they don't fix diets for you the way I understand it. They give you two choices and both choices had meat there that day and I couldn't eat either one of them. Then they had the tomato soup as an entree. They said they want you to come down to the dining room and mix with people. The studio apartment only had a refrigerator and there was no stove. The one-bedroom had a little kitchenette. They have a garden you go out and work in, they have a library, and they have bingo. They have everything that you could ever want. My big problem would be is I do not eat pork at all and I am very strict with that. I talked to the women in the dining room and they said, "Everyone here likes pork, so we eat a lot of bacon, we eat ham, they put it in everything." I can't eat it, so what do I do if I can't fix my own food? It's a beautiful place and I was on all three floors. We walked up and down the halls, and they had carts out there. All you have to do is go out and get a cart and you can use it to get your laundry and all that stuff. The workers were wonderful. They waited on you and they're very nice. They were always polite and I loved the people. They set us at a table with some women, and they were so nice to me and I enjoyed them. I loved Angela; she was nice. Everything was nice.

Walnut Woods Independent Living was a little bit smaller than the other place I toured, but there's nothing wrong with that. The inside of the rooms was very clean and the walls were painted fresh. I looked into two rooms that were being painted, and a new carpet was going in. I looked at a 1-bedroom there and a studio apartment and the layout of the rooms themselves was nice. They had a little kitchen area with a refrigerator. And I liked the fact that it was a little bit smaller because my dad walks with the aid of a cane, and it wasn't so huge for him to get around. The other thing is it's close to where I live. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly and followed up with me after the visit to make sure all my questions were answered. She was very nice. I have an uncle who lives there now. The dining area was very nice. There is a Wal-Mart close by and another department store close by. They're in the process of planning lunches, right now because of the COVID, they're still not there yet. But that's one of the things that they're planning on doing as well.

My wife and I visited Walnut Woods together. We were not impressed with the rooms; they were small from our perspective. It's a living room and a bedroom, and although they said they would put in a kitchen, what was there was just the bare minimum without some kind of enhancement. I think the staff was very good, and they did a good job with what they have.

My relative moved into Walnut Woods. Like any place, they have some staff that are very strong and some that don't have the best attitude. The dining room is not really open or anything, but I think the food portions are ridiculously small. The place seems pretty clean. Most of the staff are very nice and very helpful, and every now and then you have somebody that feels like they don't want to be there. They have bingo, Wii bowling, exercise classes, very mild ones, but it is nice that they provide those kinds of things. There are three meals a day and two snacks.

Walnut Woods was very nice. I liked it, but I'm not ready to move there. Everybody was very pleasant, but I felt like a youngster there, they were much older than me, but that didn't bother me in the least, and I would recommend it to anybody. The staff was very nice, very helpful, the young lady I dealt with was very nice and the people were all very good. The food was very good too, but there was not enough of it for somebody like me. There were no cooking facilities, but you can have a microwave. They would go on bus tours, but I still drive.

The facility is set up for maximum ease of mobility. Living is independent, but all meals are provided. Residents are free to come and go as they please. Transportation is provided for shopping and appointments. Apartments are fresh and appealing. There are at least 5 activities each day for any or all.

Walnut Woods was nice and clean. We ate lunch with the residents, and the food was good. The place had a happy atmosphere. The grounds and the location were all good.

They bring in a lot of musicians, dancers, and that type of thing at Walnut Woods, so my mom enjoys going to those. She goes to Bingo a few times, and then they actually opened up a little retail store in the place, and my mom is working in there. She was in retail back in her working days, she enjoys the people, and it gives her something to do two days a week. It’s within the facility, so she doesn’t have to travel. She has a studio, so she has one of the smaller rooms, but for her, it’s great. She doesn’t need a lot of space. For her, the key part was the bathroom. She also has a handicapped-friendly shower that she really likes and has a seat in it, and she can just get around her place very easily. It’s small, so she doesn’t have to walk very far within her place to get to either her refrigerator or into the bathroom. And the other key part for her was she wanted it to be closer to the cafeteria, so she doesn’t have to walk that far to get there, and it met all her criteria.

We visited Walnut Woods. It’s a place where you could get a good apartment, three square meals, and do some activities together. The salesperson was good, and he followed us up. He was not pushy, but thoughtful.

Walnut Woods of Boyertown was a really nice, wonderful, and clean facility, and I really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful, very friendly, and courteous. It was just a great place to be. The dining area was nice. The only thing that they need to improve on is having somebody that speaks Spanish. The activities are great, and there's plenty of stuff to do.

We visited Walnut Woods. It's a very friendly and beautiful place. It?s really everything I wanted. There are community rooms. It's very home-like to me. Another thing that really impressed me was the food. It was wonderful, and I like the fact that it was served, not buffet type. Living in that facility is like you are in a resort. The apartments are lovely. They even have a chair outside the door and a table.

I went to Walnut Woods, but this was retirement. It wasn't really assisted living. It was very nice, and I didn't think the price was that bad, but like I said, it was strictly retirement living. They had a lot of things that they did. I know they took them to places, and when I have been out on shopping and stuff, I have seen their van pull up to places like malls, so they do schedule trips. The rooms weren't bad. They may be a little smaller than an apartment that you might go into on your own, but I guess for what they are there for, those were OK.

We liked Walnut Woods; it’s very clean and very welcoming. The staff was very helpful. My mom loved it. She was interested in a studio, which is a perfect size for her. There was plenty of room, it was very comfortable looking, and it had everything she need. We did eat in the dining room, we ate lunch, and there was plenty of food and a large selection. I think we had six or seven things to choose from, and you’re waited on; it was very nice. They have Bingo, arts and crafts, and movies. There have a calendar, and there was something on it everyday.

The staff at Walnut Woods was very nice. They treated us to lunch and they were very accommodating. The food was very good. The menu was very good, and there was quite a number of selections. The dining room was nicely appointed. The rooms were pretty nice, very modern, clean, and carpeted. It wasn’t large, but that’s OK. They seemed to have quite a lot of activities.

I found a place, but I am not there yet. I liked what I saw when I visited Walnut Woods. It is in independent living, and I will be getting a one-bedroom apartment with a bathroom, living room, kitchen, and bedroom. There are a lot of activities and things to do. There are events, holiday celebrations, snacks, and good meals.

I liked the activitiy ideas at Walnut Woods, and the things that people could do to know one another. I liked everything about it. It looked a lot fancier than I expected a place liked that to be. The staff was very nice. They had a dining room that looked like a ballroom, and they had a kitchen where if I wanted to cook food, I could. However, there's not much grounds, but it was beautiful.

Walnut Woods was too far out in the country for my mother. The impression was that it was one of the older homes that we visited. I thought it had the best arrangements for refrigerators because it had them lifted up sitting on top of a cabinet instead of having to bend down to the floor to get something out of it. The people were very nice, they were very knowledgeable. They were having a veterans program that day to honor the veterans living in their facility and it was a very nice visit.

I went to Walnut Woods and it was wonderful. They had an excellent chef and they served three meals in a day. They also had games for seniors and the residents were nice too. The only drawback was that they did not have a full kitchen. I would recommend this place to others.
