We are moving my mom into Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community. I went to see it, and I like that they have newly renovated independent apartments. I like that they provide three meals a day to their patrons. The staff is really, really friendly, and the people in the community seem nice. I also like the activities, and they seem like they really care about their patients or patrons. Some of the amenities are closed down because of COVID, but they do have a happy hour for them. They have a theater and they play games like bingo. There's a salon where they can get their hair and nails done. They have a little pond too. I guess if someone does spiritual services, they can also do that.

My mother is a resident of Dunwoody Pines but she has become unhappy. The appearance of the place is really nice. My mother has lived there for almost 10 years, and we've had several managers. It's an older building, but they have done things to fix it up. It's in a good location and has lots of amenities. They just got a new manager last week. The manager who was there shortly after she moved in, who I loved, was there for several years but then he left. They have a lot of turnover in staff. They have a lot of activities, like an afternoon party and my mom goes to that. The food is up and down, and they have a hard time keeping servers. There have also been several chefs while she's living there, and there are good days and bad days. They have a really great salad bar, so Mom usually goes down to get a salad and brings it up to her room for dinner. The staff knows her since she's been there for so long and has been pretty good to her. I go and eat with her sometimes, and the food is not bad. The facilities are nice and worth it. They have the means to take people to the doctor, and they go to Walmart and do trips.

My mom was at Dunwoody Pines. She had a studio, which was perfect, but they needed to modernize it a little. Thirteen years ago, they had buttons to pull, but nowadays people have that thing around their neck or bracelets. They're not there yet. Recently, they got internet, but only in the first floor for the common area, but my mom was on the fifth floor so we had zero signal for her. The staff was awesome. They cried when I told them my mom was moving out. They're very accommodating. They would baby my mom and they loved her. It was a great experience. I have no complaints. They have a library, they have religious services on Sunday, they have a pool, and they have transportation to doctors' appointments and to shopping. They have three meals in the dining room, and they have an activity director. They have happy hour on Fridays, and they have a movie theater on one of the floors. They're busy all the time. There was a list of activities every day in the elevator. The food was hit-and-miss throughout the years. It's dependent on the cooks, and they had a few. The last one that was there was very good. The food was good. Also, they had a soup and salad bar during the lunch hour, which was pretty cool too.

Dunwoody Pines didn't know I was coming, even though Caring.com had made an appointment for us. There was just one guy there to give us a tour, and he didn't know too much, but he did try. We weren't too impressed with the looks of the place since it was an old hotel. All rooms opened onto an atrium. The rooms had one window that opened to the atrium, but who would want people looking into their apartment all the time? We weren't too impressed with it. The dining area was in the middle of the atrium, too. The place was awful even though they had a craft area and a library. We wanted Dunwoody Pines to be nice because we have friends who live there. We wanted to live there before we got there, but when we saw it, we didn't.

My mother was there for less than two weeks when she passed. The administrator Tony would come by, kneel down, hold her hand and check on her. So much love here. So much love.

My Mom has lived in this facility for almost 10 years, 8 of which was good. the last 2 years have been a merry go round of new management and poor service. The elevator has been broken for the last 7 months (in an assisted living facility where most are on walkers or wheelchairs!) and just talk about fixing it...no deadlines. If you have a loved one there, GET THEM OUT NOW!

I only met one person on staff at Dunwoody Pines. I just went in for probably 30 minutes. I thought the rooms were very nice. The lady that I talked to was the one running the facility. She was very nice, very helpful and gave me any information that I wanted. For activities, they had swimming, they had a person that came in once a week and helped people with exercise, and they had doctors that came in once a week. Their dining area was very nice. The whole place was very clean. It seemed like everyone there was doing very well and very happy to be there. I saw one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. There a place where they go and sit outside and barbeque. They had a pool out there, and that was really what I liked.

Dunwoody Pines is farther out, which is not exactly something that appeals to me. The facility was very attractive, more attractive than the other place I visited, but they had almost all of the same facilities. I saw some of their one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, and they were very nice. The upkeep was very clean, and everything seemed to be working very well. I had lunch there, and it was a very nice lunch as a matter of fact. They have various kinds of social activities and provide transportation to doctors' offices and supermarkets when you need to do some shopping and things like that.

The couple that ran Dunwoody Pines was very nice. Everything was clean and tidy. It just did not sink with me like the other place I visited. The tried the food, there was nothing wrong with it, I just preferred the food in the other place I visited. However, everybody that took me around was wonderful. They were very gracious. The facilities were fine, but the other one was closer to us.

My brother is at Dunwoody Pines. The environment is very clean and very friendly; everyone greeted us. The director and his wife worked with us and ensured that the transition would be smooth. We've kept in touch with them. It has been a wonderful place. The food is excellent. We have eaten there a few times and felt very welcome each time.

My sister is at Dunwoody Pines. I like how they accommodate the needs of the residents and that it is a clean, safe environment. They encourage the residents to do different activities, but they don’t force it upon them if they choose not to participate. They have two levels of dining rooms: one for independent living residents and one for assisted. They have a beauty shop, a swimming pool, and a movie theater. They have gardening activities.

I visited Dunwoody Pines a few months ago. I think the staff was very friendly and asked a lot of good questions about my dad. Some of the things they considered were my father's personal needs. They did little things to accommodate my dad and, at the same time, didn't pressure me about anything. The rooms and apartments were nice and clean. It was small overall, but I think the space was just enough for my dad. I haven't tried eating there, but the dining room looked good. As far as I could remember, they had a few recreational activities and gave the residents options of what to do and what not to do. The place was just great!

I went to Dunwoody Pines, which I liked it a lot. The rooms weren't very big. They had kitchens, and the dining room serves three meals a day which you don't have to do, but you're paying for it. The management team was very pleasant. I liked that it's arranged a little differently than most places. As you come in the front door, there was a huge room which included the dining room and a dance floor area. There's a nice pond in another room with goldfish in it. All of the rooms are set around this big oval. Their prices were less than some of the others. The only thing I disliked was they have a huge parking lot and are surrounded totally by business, so there aren't any trees, real nice place to look at, or an opportunity to go outside and sit amongst trees. However, if you're able to go within a very short distance, you could walk to a small shopping center that had a grocery store and restaurant. They had activities and a van that takes people to doctors' appointments.

My father was a resident at Dunwoody Pines while under hospice care and I found the staff and management to be exceptionally courteous and helpful well beyond my expectations. Tri-Mark home care services, a third party on-site provider, were a real sanity-saver during a difficult time for my father and his family. I am truly grateful that I connected with Dunwoody Pines and was always made to feel welcome. Under the circumstances my father liked it very much as well.

He likes it at Dunwoody Pines. The staff is very nice and very friendly. The food is great. They sit down at the table and they serve them. He has a large room and it is decorated very nicely. He’s got his own furniture and really nice carpet as well as drapes. They have all kinds of things; Bingo and exercise classes during the day, an exercise room, movies, a swimming pool and everything. He is happy.

I am at Dunwoody Pines, and they provide 24/7 care. They have CNAs and nurses on the premises. The staff are polite, very helpful, and accommodating. They offer three meals a day. In case of emergency, there is a string that you can pull in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom. The apartments are cleaned every Friday. They have church services on Sundays. We have different kinds of board games, yoga, and exercise programs. They also have a library. They allow pets, but you have to keep your pet in the apartment and be responsible for it.

My aunt is at Dunwoody Pines. I like it very well for the need it's supposed to serve. The problem with my aunt is that she falls frequently and the facility has no guidelines that makes them check to see if she is in the floor or has chosen to stay in her apartment. She has been in the floor as much as probably 24 hours without anybody knowing she is there. It’s not the company's fault because they have no responsibility on checking on her. They provide three meals a day. They also provide a van that takes them to the grocery store or to doctor's appointments and she uses that too. They have lots of activities. They have bingo a couple of times a week which they all like. They have games on certain days and they post in the elevator. They also have exercise several times a week. There's a pool and an exercise room, but she is no longer using those kinds of facility. She does still play bingo and she likes playing that. She has been there for more than 5 years.

I am putting Dunwoody Pines in consideration because it is more affordable. They have studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, which are all nice. It is an independent living facility, but it does offer assisted living services that come as extra that you could pay for. They have a full schedule of activities and a staff who conducts them. The one thing that I noticed though is that they don't have as nice room space to carry out those activities. The movies that they show are on a TV and the room is not very large at all to accommodate most of the residents. It also serves as a multipurpose room. However, the residents there seemed very happy and satisfied. They have never seen us before but when we came in the door, they were all smiling, waving and welcoming us. They were just volunteering to us how much they like this place and told us how long they have been there. They seemed to be very friendly with each other

Dunwoody is a really nice place. This was the only place that matches what my parents want. The people there are nice and the atmosphere is very friendly. It also provided them with the amenities that they were looking for that's why they choose to move in.

My mom stayed at Dunwoody Pines for about six years. They had one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. Each one was had a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator, and a handicapped bathroom. There was also a walk-in closet and a separate storage closet. The food was excellent because I have eaten there with my mom. The menu changed daily with two or three choices. Pets were also allowed, and they could do a some planting on the green house. The staff were also available around the clock which was very nice.

I have an elderly relative lodged at Dunwoody Pines, and I visit about least three times each month, staying for a meal when I am able. For the second time in one month, I was served a plate of visibly moldy food. Since many of the seniors living there have impaired vision, I m sure some of them have eaten this horrible moldy food without even knowing. I have handed the plate to the managers each time, and they made light of it. I also had a salad with a moldy tomato on the side. It seems to be a good idea to start photographing these terrible conditions and send them to the county health department. Whatever you do, don t put your elderly relative or loved one in this disgusting facility. You might not see the obvious at first glance. The management turnover is constant, and most of them don t care about the residents. My opinions are based on seeing this place firsthand over a three-year time span. The cleaning staff is the worst, and there is resulting concern over hygiene in the apartments of the residents. Maintenance is also poor.
