I visited this facility

So far, right now, the Emerson on Harvest Hill has the top spot. I like the place and it's not that far from my daughter. It's only ten minutes from where my daughter lives. The people were very friendly. I'm allergic to cottonwood trees severely, and they have plenty of cottonwood flying around, but I like the people and everything. The only situation is the area that it is in. The apartments there are small for the furniture and stuff that I have. I like the manager. I like all the activities they got. I think my husband would have more activities and stuff there that he likes to do. He likes to play dominoes, and he enjoys talking to his neighbors. Now he doesn't go sit out on the balcony anymore. He stays in his room and the only time he goes out is when he goes to the store for his daughter to come and get him and take him somewhere. He doesn't even go out to eat anymore unless it's for a party or something, and he doesn't go to the movies, so I'm trying to get him more active around people. The person who took me around there was excellent. She was really friendly, and we enjoyed talking to her. She was very knowledgeable. They had a small refrigerator in the apartments. They have games and a movie room where they show movies like a theater room. They show different movies every night. And if you want to have a little get-together with the family, you can always reserve the room just for you and your family and watch a movie. They also have activities where they have little trips, and transportation to the stores, to doctor's appointments, or wherever they need to go. They have a bus that would take you where you need to go, drop you off, and then come back and pick you up. They have gazebos and they have a park for dogs. They have more than one area for that. They have a game room where they play cards. They have several different activities to keep them busy.

My husband and I have moved to Emerson on Harvest Hill in Dallas. We're in their independent living and we chose it because it was in our budget, all meals are included, and they have activities. They have Bible study, ice cream socials, bingo, and they play games and puzzles. We have a housekeeper come in once a week, our room is beautiful, and the apartments here are nice. They're small but nice. The food is nothing to write home about but it's OK.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm over at Emerson On Harvest Hill. It's a true senior living facility. They accommodated me however they could realizing what my situation was, which is a very special kind of situation, and through their efforts, I was able to move in and afford what I'm doing. They have free transportation, housekeeping once a week, three meals a day, and medical provisions. It's for people in independent living. It graduates as assistance is required, then it graduates to a full nursing home. The nursing home and rehab facility are right next door. I couldn't be happier. The place I rented was a studio. It's a very small place, but that's what I could only afford at that time with all the other things. All utilities are paid. They even have special pricing on Spectrum internet and TV, which is $65 for both of them. It's a lovely place. The people are extremely nice. The residents here are happy and that was the first thing I noticed when I even walked into the place to look at it. The people that were sitting around were happy and I've talked to several of them and they are happy. They've been here for sundry amounts of time. There are a lot of new residents here. One fellow I talked to last night has been here for eight years and he loves it. They are very reasonable, plus they are looking for more residents, and I'm going to refer them to anybody that is looking. Susan is wonderful. She will work with you, and she will do everything she can to make it affordable for you and she did. The staff has been wonderful. During the Covid spike, they had several of the housekeeping people and transportation people test positive and they quarantined the whole staff of transportation and housekeeping. Some of the dining room staff, too. They kind of doubled-up jobs and were still very pleasant and very accommodating. They were just wonderful. They're very empathetic to people's needs. They truly are a caring place for seniors. They even recommended a person that they have used for 20 years to do moving. My moving expenses got to $730 because I had a side trip I need to take, and Emerson paid $500 of that $730. The food is very good. The place is clean. Even in this time when they've had problems with the COVID thing, they still kept it clean. I have no complaints about that at all. They got stuff going on all the time. They had to discontinue a lot of stuff because of the COVID thing, but they're now starting back again. They've got all kinds of games that they play, exercise classes, people come in and sing, and church services. They have a movie every Wednesday night. You have to get your name in the pot to get a seat, but the seat is limited because of COVID. They've got stuff going on all the time. They were going to have a wine and cheese tasting, but that got postponed to February the 6th. They have an intercom into every department that announces 30 minutes before the activities are coming up to remind those who have few short-term memory problems. They're cheaper than others with all they have to offer. I looked at some other places and the other places were at least $300 or $400 more expensive, even with the special going on. These people work with you. They take into consideration your situation, your age, your ability, and they truly bend over backward to help you. If it hadn't been for them, I probably would be on the street by now. It's pet-friendly because I have a cat. I've seen people with various size dogs. The amazing thing is you don't hear them bark.

I was very impressed by Emerson On Harvest Hill. The whole place is excellent, it's almost new and it's a beautiful place. I think their prices are very competitive with what I'm paying right now, so it was okay. It's in a nice location and competitive price. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and very knowledgeable about what they had and what their amenities were. She was very good. I had lunch there, and it was very good compared to what we have where I am right now, and our food is not bad, it's not anything exceptional. But institutional food is going to be institutional food wherever you find it, but this was at least as good as any I've seen. The place was very clean. But it is so large, it would be pretty easy to get lost. It's much larger than where I am now, you could wander those hallways forever. But it's a very nice facility, and based on what I saw in my visit there, I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

The last community I visited was Emerson on Harvest Hill. I liked it but I couldn't afford it. It's $1500 and that will take my whole check. They took me around and they showed me the apartment that would be mine, once they got to finish cleaning it up and that kind of stuff, and I was very satisfied with them. I just couldn't afford it. I checked out their independent living and there wasn't anything I disliked about the quick visit I did. I like the idea of everything being included too. I didn't meet too many of the staff, but the ones that I did, I thought they were professional. They showed me a 1-bedroom apartment. It had a kitchen and a bath. It was like a small apartment. The food is included and if you want to put some small things in your apartment, you can do that too. The apartment that I saw wasn't cleaned up yet because somebody had just moved out. They told me ahead of time that it wasn't cleaned up so I can't judge the cleanliness of it. They also showed me the theater, the exercise room, and the laundry room. Everything I saw, I was very pleased with. Everything was clean and I saw both the outside and inside. I was there during mealtime so mostly everybody was in the dining room eating. It was set up very nicely and they told me that you're not assigned a seat so you can make friends by going from one table to the other.

We're signed up, and we will be moving in. The room that I selected was on the third floor -- which meant nobody was over me -- and it was a 2-bedroom flat with a main living area; I just decided it's what I want. Everybody there was very friendly and helpful, and I think they will be very astute and good. The rooms could have been bigger though.

My uncle is here. All of the amenities are A-plus. He has a spacious and nice one-bedroom apartment. They have external things like grocery stores and food trips and offer a dog park if you have a small pet. They have a happy hour every Friday night and on-site physical fitness.

The staff is wonderful and the residents are very friendly at the Treemont Retirement. The food is very good. We do have exercise classes and one class I really enjoy is called think tank were we talk about current events and recall our memories.

It is a nice place, but it’s more for independent-living. There is more of a professional level clientele. It’s an older building; their food is good. There were a lot of choices for activities; they had bingo, movie nights, some hobby time, and get-togethers. I would recommend it for independent-living certainly.

We chose here for my dad because we were really pleased with it and to me, when you walked in it was almost like it gave you a homey feeling versus some of the others that we have visited. Also, to be honest, it was also a financial thing. Their staff is wonderful and everyone we've met has been very, very friendly, and they are very helpful. We've had different occasions where I was trying to get my dad set up so he can go and see his wife at Christmas time, and they are just great. They are very helpful with little things -- like I had them coming to do his carpet in his room and they come and clean his place once a week and they are all very, very helpful. He's got his own one-bedroom apartment type thing, but there is no kitchen. It has a little living area, a bedroom, a nice walk-in closet, and a nice little place for him to put his actual dresser. The kitchen is just a sink, a refrigerator, and a microwave, which is just perfect for him. They feed him three meals a day; he goes down there and eat which has been wonderful. He has been very pleased with the food. They have weekly trips to Walmart and the grocery stores, and they also have a weekly trip where they kind of decide where everybody wants to go, and they'll take them to do something like museums or stuff like that. They've got a lot of church things, they have what they call a little happy hour two nights a week where they just all get together in snacks, and they have somebody there that normally just plays music for them and they can dance. They just have all kinds of activities, all kinds of arts and crafts, but they also got a library with the computers and stuff like that. There are lots of trees around, they have areas where they can go outside and sit, little garden areas, and they have little gazebos.

It has both independent and assisted living. They also have like a hospital wing as well. Their independent living was set up a little bit more like a hotel. It was independent living but it wasn't set up like apartment complex. It was more like a hotel: all the rooms were sort of down the hall from each other. They were a lot of different floors so that it was a little confusing to find your way around. The rooms were very nice but they were smaller. Overall, it didn't give an independent living feeling for my mother. It felt more like an assisted living facility. Also their kitchenette area was very different. They didn't have a stove. So they didn't offer the same amenities as the other location. We did try the food and it was good. Also the dining area was a clean, neat, and nice orderly place. The staff was excellent. They were incredibly nice and very kind. They spent a lot of time with us and answered all our questions. They were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

My dad stayed in the independent living facility here. He lived by himself when my mom was in their nursing home for a couple of months. It was an older facility. It was also small. Their apartments were very small and very antiquated too. However, my dad liked this facility. He made many friends there. He would go and meet with other people and eat with them. They have a once-a-week happy hour, but I would have to say that they did not have as many events as the other facility. Nevertheless, their community areas were very nice. Actually, everybody there was nice. The staff was also wonderful.

It is a place for older people, sixty-five years old and above. My mother had a fracture in the back so she had to be there. They have a doctor on-call, worked with her in physical therapy and they have an exercise program after she finished her rehab. She's now ready to move out after two and a half months. I'm very impressed that once a week you can get your hair done and they have a lot of entertainment for the patients if they chose to go to them. The rest of the patients are wheelchair bound but they still have opportunities to do things. The staff was kind and loving to her. I'm really impressed with the care they take for their patients.

It is excellent. My mom is having a great time there. She has a 1 bedroom apartment with a refrigerator, a microwave oven and a cupboard. She gets 3 very good meals a day included in her rent. They have parties, a cinema room, a beauty salon and a beautiful library with computers. They encourage you to bring your pets. They have a dog park. I would absolutely recommend this facility.
