Wesley Woods is a large campus with over 64 Acers of grounds and facilities from Assisted living to a Psychiatric Unit. There is also a Memory Care unit for Dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. The facility is well run and exceeds the state standard for Geriatric Care; they were recently evaluated and passed accreditation above average. The staff is professional and educated in their perspective fields. The staff is attentive and goes above and beyond to help the residents feel at ease and at home. There are all medical services offered here from Doctors visits to OT/Stand ST. There are several dining halls and a cafeteria for staff and visitors. The food is tasty and well prepared with many amazing healthy options. The rooms in the assisted living unit are nice and spacious. They are warm and well decorated. There are many activities to keep the residents engaged. Bingo, Crafts, Movie Days and Nights, Socials, Ice Cream Parties, Birthday Parties, Holidays are highlights around here. There are outings off campus to shop and attend Church. Religious and Civic groups do bring programs and worship services to the facility. The residents are well cared for here, they are clean. bright and alert. There is a peaceful feel here and they will feel safe and secure. There is 24 security on campus; all have to check in with them to enter at night. I was impressed with this facility. I highly recommend.

The Wesley Woods senior health center is a an all-encompassing nursing home with services ranging from acute care facilities to assisted living. There is a nursing home, an independent living retirement center, a geriatric hospital, and a health center all within a beautiful 64-acre plot of woodland in metro Atlanta. I have had the pleasure of volunteering there many times. All of the facilities seem secluded and offset from the noise of the city. After entering the facility, one forgets that they are still in a city and can just enjoy the beautiful plot of the Wesley Woods center. All of the facilities are very modern and clean. They reflect the high standard that Emory holds for all of its health service providers. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I have volunteered in the neuropsychiatric ward as well, and for those who are not well acquainted with geriatric, neuropsychiatric patients often suffer from extremely debilitating mental illness and therefore are some of the most difficult patients to care for. This can translate to a decrease in the quality of care in many facilities as staff can get frustrated with the difficult patients and not care for them properly. I have not seen this at all in this center and I think that speaks to their competency and integrity.
