This agency lost their contract with the Sate of Connecticut to provide care to the elderly under the Connecticut Home Program for the Elderly. I don't have specifics of the reason(s) but I can say that a 93 year-old client of mine received services from this agency and they were definitely sub-par when compared to other area agencies. Consistency in care is especially important for our elderly population who are used to routines and familiar faces. This agency somehow didn't have a grasp on that concept and would send someone, anyone, to fill the overnight shift for my client. Some of the home health aides were okay, but many were not. There were also questionable billing practices with this agency. I handled all of my client's finances and it was suspect for this agency to keep sending duplicate and triplicate weekly invoices even after it was specifically explained to them how the monthly bills were paid (by me, after the 1st of the month).
