I am family of client that lives in Tucson AZ. My sister receives services from Home Instead of Tucson, AZ. I highly recommend this agency. Staff coordinators and caregivers are friendly, reliable, punctual and when a situation arises they always have someone to cover and come to the home. Services are errands,.go to grocery store, pick up prescriptions, doctor appointments. Also laundry, light housekeeping, take out the trash. Bathing and toileting. Care givers offer moral support and company. This agency offers a family portal site for the family members to see care provider notes, schedules, calendar, billings and one can post to office staff with concerns. A great communication tool. Highly recommend this agency. Takes the worry out of being across the other side of the country.

All of the caregivers who spent time with my 96-year-old mother were excellent, especially her primary caregiver. Sometimes Mom was grumpy or didn’t want to interact with anyone, but Ronie had creative ways to get her to talk and eat and feel like a valued person again. Ronie consistently went far above and beyond our expectations and made Mom’s waning years more enjoyable and worthwhile for her. Most importantly she cared for Mom with patience, compassion, and love. No amount of thanks can express how much we appreciate all the staff at Home Instead did for Mom. Mom passed peacefully Oct. 7 and her last days were made easier because of the outstanding care she had.

The level of care that was given to father and our family during my fathers battle with cancer was excellent. Scott (owner), Evie and caregiver were professional but more importantly caring. They were concerned about the needs of my father and helping my mother during this very difficult time. They involved my father in what he wanted for assistance and tailored their care to meet his request. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone needing their service.

Home Instead was just fabulous for my mom. My mom is 83 and she had a nice person that came in and spent nice time with her. They got involved in activities which was nice. She tried to connect with my mom, which was fantastic. She came in three days consecutively for three hours. They got along together very well.

We had Home Instead Senior Care service for my Father for about a year. I could give a lot of reasons why I wouldn't recommend this provider to anybody. They said they are well trained but they are not. They are not professional. It seems as if they don't know what they are doing. One thing after another kept going wrong with them so I found somebody new. The thing is that they said they were only give 3 people caring for my dad but it ended up 5. They weren't keeping the house clean. It's just a basic thing. I never expect them to do all the dusting and scrub it all the time. The bottom line is his bathroom needed to be clean everyday and they weren't doing that. The other thing is that my dad is not supposed to drive, they knew that. But he kept on asking everybody to bring him the car keys and one of the caregivers ended up bringing the keys to him. My dad actually took the car out and drove it and had a minor accident which was very fortunate. He was okay and that was very upsetting. They got rid off the caregiver and got somebody else. We were just not really happy with what we experience with this home care provider.

    Provider Response

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed. It's important that every client is well cared for in a professional and compassionate manner. Because the safety of our clients is our primary goal, our CAREGivers receive industry-leading training and consistent supervision. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any further assistance at scott@homeinsteadtucson.com.

    Sincerely, Scott Ehrsam - President

This is a home care company that has offices throughout the United States. The care they give is non-medical. They have certified, bonded, and insured caregivers who are well screened. The first thing offered is a free no obligation care assessment by a care counselor. This is to assess what actual amount and level of care needed for the client. After this assessment, they sit down with the family and/or client to discuss the options, costs, or cost coverage under certain benefit programs. Usually caregivers are scheduled for 3 hour shifts with hourly rate. They do have available care 24/7. The services offered include respite, short term recovery, assistance with daily living activities as bathing or dressing, and dementia/Alzheimer. They also offer companions, light housekeeping, and cooking meals. The caregivers can also transport and escort clients to doctors appointments or shopping. The office personnel seems quite knowledgeable and caring. Because they have 24 hour services, they can also do overnight or short term stays for families who go on vacations or out of town. This is a very good service for families or clients who want to stay at home rather then convalescent or assisted living.

Other than a simple miscommunication when we first got started with them. They have provided us with a great fitting companion for my mother. Her companion was able to go with th the flow during a kitchen reconstruction , and my mothers many rehab therapists that came and went after her fall. She still made sure Mom felt secure and healthy. They were always prompt and easy to deal with.

Fantastic customer service. We called at around 5pm on a Saturday, desperate for overnight home care assistance that very night, and by 9pm a caregiver was meeting us at the door of my mother-in-law's apartment. The staff was incredibly helpful, dispatched the caregiver before we had even set up payment (I truly appreciated this level of trust), and remained flexible throughout that week as we decided on nearly a daily basis whether overnight supervision was needed. Home Instead provided the essential bridge we needed on the way to moving the client into a full-time memory care facility.
