At Senior Helpers, we specialize in providing quality in-home care for seniors—the kind of compassionate, professional and responsive care that truly transforms the life of a senior and their family.
We provide help with tasks that enable a senior to manage daily activities, retain independence, and enjoy quality time with loved ones. We help with housekeeping, personal grooming, meals, transportation, and activities like current events discussions, movie hour, scrapbooking and visiting friends and others in the community.
Senior Helpers has specialized and experienced care teams to address the specific needs of people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, Parkinson's, COPD, congestive heart failure, Multiple Scerlosis, as well as people who are also under the care of a hospice agency.
Our professionals are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We hire our caregivers based on professionalism, enthusiasm, and compassion for seniors. After a full, thorough screening, we train, bond and insure each one. We match our caregiver’s experience, skill set and personality to the senior’s needs and interests.
For our caregivers, this isn’t just a job...because they are a lifegiver. As they help out with day-to-day chores, they also spend time just having fun with our clients. Whether it’s scrapbooking, gardening, or coming with a bouquet of fresh flowers, we bring joy into the senior’s life each and every day.
The owner of Senior Helpers, David Wallace, founded the company after seeing how a professional caregiver experienced with dementia brought joy and peace of mind to his late grandmother – and to David’s entire family. David was also influenced profoundly by his personal experience of being a caregiver – during his early teens – for his late father, who had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. David is active in the community - as an advocate for San Diego’s seniors and their families, David is featured regularly in the media, and speaks publicly on a wide range of issues related to caregiving and aging.
