Senior Helpers provides non-medical in home care and support to Northern Nevada Seniors. Whether you need assistance 2 hours once a week or support 24/7, we will be there.

Senior Helpers goal is to keep seniors living in their own home safely and as independently as possible. Our professional caregivers help with everything from housekeeping and meal preparation to personal care, medication reminders and even provide transportation. Whether you need short term assistance after a hospital or rehab. stay or need long term help, we can develop a personal care plan focusing on just what you request.

Senior Helpers professional personal companions, caregivers & CNA’s are required to complete the following:

• Each employee must have clear background checks with both the State of Nevada and the FBI
• Submit to a pre-employment physical documenting good health
• Provide us with a clear 2-step TB test
• Have a clean driving record (we pull a 10 driver history)
• Complete drug testing
• Must have experience and be compassionate and dependable

After passing all screenings our caregivers go Senior Helpers Training which includes such topics as:

• Client Confidentiality
• Hand Washing and Infection Control
• Nutrition and Hydration for Seniors
• Preventing Falls & Contractures
• Aging & the Skin
• Maintaining a Clean & Safe Environment
• Range of Motion for Seniors
• Communication & Dealing with Adverse Behaviors
• Special Needs of Elderly Clients
• Transfers for Seniors
• Bowel Bladder & Incontinence Care for Seniors
• First Aid & CPR

Only after completing all screenings & training requirements is a caregivers available to work with a client of Senior Helpers.

Each caregiver is bonded and covered by full workers compensation and liability insurance. In addition Senior Helpers caregivers are required to complete ongoing continuing education course.

Many of our caregivers have additional training allowing them to be part of our special teams specializing in Dementia, Alzheimer’s and Hospice care.

Our caregivers are constantly monitored and evaluated by supervisory visits. Our supervisory staff keeps in constant contact with all our clients to insure that not only all their care needs are being met but that they are enjoying the time they are spending with their caregiver.
