Do not hire this agency. Their initial in person consult seems fine and promises of superb care and communication are emphasized. We needed an aide for a few hours a day for simple tasks for a patient with a motor neuron disease, aged 65 and specifically requested someone close in age and interests. We were assured there was no problem. Instead, a young 28 yo woman was sent who complained her wages were too low and she was waiting for a remote job to open so she could work from home. Not exactly what a patient wants to hear who is dealing with their own issues. This company is all about making money and has no regard for patient needs.

I am a past client of this provider

I would NOT recommend this business! The Administration was as bad as some of the staff. They tell you that staff isn't supposed to sleep at night yet when you complain that they do, they insist they are allowed to "rest their eyes" (direct quote). The client (high fall risk) actually had to walk down a hallway in the middle of the night to awaken sleeping staff bcs she needed help! The vast majority of the care providers ignored REPEATED requests to remain next the client while walking due to high risk for falling (per PT). I observed them WATCHING her walk while they were in a different room and I was ignored when I complained to staff. This happened MANY times. They actually placed the client in danger on an almost constant basis by doing this. In fact, I argued with Admin about their staff being downstairs while my relative napped upstairs and they defended their staff!! If the client had needed help, they never would have heard her from downstairs. One aid who was seated 10 feet from the door refused to answer a rigning doorbell (4 seperate rings) after I asked her to do so! The seated staff person who was watching TV said the person could let themselves in since they only had to open the storm door. Another staff member argued with our request that she park in the street. We asked them to do this becasue they were driving 5 feet into the lawn to avoid other parked cars whereby ruining the lawn. Another staff member claimed she didn't know how to set a table when i complained abt all the silverware that had been tossed to the right of the plate, completely missing the placemat. There was also no napkin, no beverage, no butter for the potato. My request to set a proper table was met with a snitty reply. Count on getting nothing but frozen, high sodium meals unless you put up a fight. The easiest thing to make is what will be served unless you complain. One staff member was so bad that I sent her home after 11 minutes. That was a record! She felt free to tell me how awful I was before she left. Another one who I asked to leave was so bad that medical staff from another company gave me the thumb's up. She was familiar with this person in other homes and agreed that she needed to be on the other side of the door. And forget them remembering to remind the client to take meds. Forget it. And reminders to do PT and OT were grossly lacking. The take away is that you will be deemed as awful if you ask that they stay awake at night, serve healthy meals, provide assistance with walking (a medical mandate), not drive on the lawn, expect a table to be set with a napkin and with silverware where it's supposed to be, remain on the same floor as a napping client so there are no surprises when they get out of bed by themselves to go to the bathroom AND SO ON!! Do not use this company. Sadly, they are all alike. I recommend private duty. It's less expensive and better. Be sure to do background checks in ALL the counties they have lived and contact three consecutive past employers as well as three consecutive clients (or family members) for references. there are some bad eggs out there. It's a crap shoot but be vigilant and be sure to get what you are paying for!

I wanted to tell you about the real angel you have among you. Your caregiver Carline came to work for Ms. J over a year ago. Mrs. J's health was declining fast and she was preparing herself to die. Then, into her life walks Carline. She took Ms. J under her wing and because of the great care she receives, she is now thriving. Carline always goes above and beyond the call of duty for her. She cooks delicious, healthy meals that Ms. J. actually eats. I couldn't get her to eat much of anything. Now she's eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. In January, Ms. J turned 95.... We had a little birthday party for her with neighbors and friends. Carline spent her own money for a birthday cake for her and really worked hard to make it a special birthday. She does little things for her every day that has really helped to make Ms. J's life SO much better !! Ms. J and I are so thankful for Carline. She has made a huge, positive difference for Ms. J and we just wanted to say.... Thank you !!

I've used Visiting Angels Raleigh before. They came in right away that same day that I called. They helped me with everything from going to the bathroom, to cooking, to whatever. One of them took me to my doctor's appointment. I only had to go one time, and they took me. All of them were very attentive. They were coming everyday for three weeks.

I recently lost my mother and was so grateful to Visiting Angels for their loving care. They worked closely with Hospice to make sure all of her needs were met and that her dignity was maintained. The caregivers even took the time to see if I was doing alright. I will never forget how much of a difference those Angels made in our lives. Thank you!

My mom is a current client of Visiting Angels & has been for the past 2 years. Without there help mom would be in a home of some sort. When I initially inquired about services, their response time was immediate. The RN came out to assess my mothers situation that afternoon, after working with the family we had an "angel" lined up the next day. The nurse also suggested somethings that we could do to increase moms safety in her home which we never thought of. Our "angels" have been wonderful & are like a part of the family. I know that if I ever have a question or concern someone is always available. I highly highly recommend Visiting Angels.

This agency was very responsible in the beginning (2 years ago), now they are not dependable at all! They sometimes wait and call an hour or two before visitation to say that the caregiver will not be there. Last week, there was no call and no one showed up. I need to find a mire dependable agency. My father is very elderly and handicapped and needs hygenic and grooming care. I depend on them to assist me. This has happened way too many times. Unreliable

Before my mother moved to an assisted living facility, Visiting Angels provided an in-home caregiver/companion a few days a week for her. We were able to negotiate a reasonable schedule, and the caregiver became an important figure who helped keep my mother company, run errands with or without her, alert us to problems, help cook and straighten her increasingly chaotic home. She even drive her to an important out-of-town funeral when a family member was not able to! Ultimately, it was this "angel" who helped me recognize that my mother was not safe on her own. She was the one who let me know Mom had answered the door late at night to a male stranger and set the microwave on fire. We moved her to a facility none too soon!
