Griswold Home Care of Nor Cen Penn Office

I have wonderful care from all of their caregivers. The girls do what they have to do in helping me out. I'm not walking anymore. My caregivers help me pick up my prescriptions at the drugstore. They make me dinner and give me sponge bath every night. I can't complain about any of the caregivers from Griswold. They just are all fine.

The caregiver whom we've known from before, went to work for Griswold. We liked her so we decided to go with Griswold too. They have very well trained people. We had basically the same person in the morning for about two and a half years and were very pleased with her. We had substitutes when she wasn't been able to be here. I have had some evening care too for several nights for my mother. Everybody they send is very personable, caring and well trained. I think they do have very high standards. They were very clear with what employees are not allowed to do. Andrew and his wife came and met with us at the time that we signed on with Griswold and they were very professional. We just had a good experience. We've had them close to three years. My mother is pretty much chair-bound. She can't walk and so she sit on a chair through the day. The caregivers bathe her, set her breakfast and lunch. They assist her to bed and they have to move her from her lift chair to a wheelchair. My mother is basically immobile so they have to get things for her.

We had looked around in our area here and Andrew's company was recommended by some friends. I sat down and had a very good meeting with Andrew and his wife. I was impressed with their integrity, the screening process, and their ability to provide the level of care I was looking for.

They had been very positive and very supportive. The individual who's actually providing the in-home care for my dad is very capable and loving. She's very diligent towards my dad's needs and she's very open and supportive. She provided a very good level of care. She helps prepare his meals. She helps with in-home activities like puzzles to keep dad occupied if my wife and I are not home.

Griswold is with us 15 hours a week. I haven't asked anything that they were not able to provide.

I had a prior experience with Griswold Home Care in another area for my other grandmother. Their service is excellent. I had contacted them to arrange 24 hour care on a Thursday or a Friday. We met on a Saturday with Andrew. We have another private caregiver, a friend that we are using as well. So we just needed someone to supplement the hours that our other caregiver can't, like over night and 2 other days during the week. The following week we had 3 different caregivers from Griswold in our house. They were very fast. We used them for about a week and a half to two weeks because she passed away. The 3 caregivers that we had were excellent.

They match the caregivers appropriately to my grandmother. They gave us people that have an understanding that she is an independent person. Her morals and values are things that were important to her and they were able to match them up. Andrew's interview and intake process with people is phenomenal. He asked a lot of question that I have found a lot of people don't ask. Like for my mom he asked what's important to her. For my mom, her independence was important and not feeling like she was being baby sat by somebody. Andrew asked things related to her personality. He sent us people who were absolutely a good match with an understanding about her personality. They were knowledgeable and weren't afraid to help us through the process. They were excellent and making sure she's comfortable.

In the beginning there were really just there to give her something to eat or help her to the bathroom. But in the end, like the last 48 to 72 hours, they were able to bathe her and helped her to bed. I had been there on a Wednesday night and she was on a hospital bed because she had a fall. I left but within 25 minutes the caregiver, who was an LPN I believe, called me and said she does not like the way my grandmother is breathing. She sounds like she has so much in her lungs that she can't get out. She knew that there was a medication that hospice uses but didn't want to do it without hospice seeing her and telling her that it was ok. So she called me and I called hospice and hospice came out. Thankfully for this woman knowing what she knew and paying attention to what she had found that night. Hospice found that she did need another medication and within an hour and half from that phone call, we were being called by hospice to tell us that were are looking at an end of life and we need to get to my grandmother. So had she not made that phone call to me, my grandmother situation would have gotten worse and we wouldn't have made it there on time. With her doing that, we were able to keep my grandmother comfortable for the last few hours of her life.

From start to finish, from the people who own it to the people who work for them, they are really good.

We know Andrew and they're friends of ours. We got Griswold Home Care for my Mom. We started by the end of June this year. As we told Andrew that it was really a blessing because we have them come in from 8pm-8am and it gives us peace of mind during the night that she was safe. That somebody is with her and we can sleep better. The caregivers were all wonderful. They are compassionate and they gave lots of notes so we knew where things stood with my mom. They do everything for her. They're making her snack before bed or getting her breakfast if she wants to in the morning. They did what we asked. There's one young caregiver that had been coming from where my mom grew up. Here name is Jessica. For some reason my mom really talks to her. I'm thinking maybe it's because they could talk about their little hometown and all that. All was great and we don't have complaints about any of them. They're like family actually. In the beginning she didn't really like the idea of somebody in her home but I think she as gotten to the point where she depends on them now. Griswold is everything we expected and more.

Griswold of Nor Cen Penn has provided warm and friendly, high quality caregivers for my 90-year-old mother, consistently and reliably. They are responsive to my needs and flexible when things change.......and they do change ! Andrew and Heather own the business and are passionate about the work they do. As I live two hours away from my mother, I need the help of professionals to care for Mom, and Griswold provides them. I have used their services for almost two years, and their caregivers work hand-in-hand with the staff of the retirement community where Mom lives. I highly recommend them.
