Owned and operated by Gale Friedman, RN MS, Assisting Hands Home Care sets the standard for in-home non-medical services. After receiving her degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley she pursued a Master's in Nursing and provided clinical care at several hospitals. She then joined the USC School of Nursing as a clinical instructor and lecturer. The home care business has allowed her to pursue her passion for the elderly and make a difference in the lives of our aging population. Providing skilled caregivers with focused training and diligent supervision is the backbone of the company. Gale personally conducts all client care coordination, assists with training, and provides follow-up visits.
Specialized training for Alzheimer's and the support of specialists allows our caregivers to provide specific care to this population. Fall prevention/avoidance is another area of focus for our caregivers who receive additional training in this area.
With our fresh outlook and professional standard we strive for a better level of service in the homecare industry. Caregivers are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Finding care for a loved one is an emotional time. My brother and I were faced with the dilemma of what to do for our mom who needed more care than we were personally able to provide. We investigated several options, but the one that appealed to us the most was the hope of having our mom live in her own home where she was the most comfortable, while receiving assistance with her daily needs. We were referred to Gale at Assisting Hands, and after speaking with her on the phone, we set up an appointment to meet her and hear about her program. Gale is a lovely woman, caring and considerate, and so easy to work with. She truly understood what we needed and was able to guide us through the process, explaining all of the services that Assisting Hands provides. Everyone that works for her is bonded and insured, so there are no worries about that. She also takes care of the payroll and taxes. We had a second meeting to be introduced to our caretaker. What a wonderful woman! It’s like Gale matched our Mom to the perfect person! We can see that this interaction has been good for our Mom; our caretaker engages her in conversation, fixes meals and snacks, assists her in bathing and personal grooming, and even washed windows one day! We are very happy that we found Gale and highly recommend Assisting Hands.
