They need to do a better job of assessing what the customer needs. My mom has a severe form of dementia. She needed assistance in transferring from the bed to the wheelchair and from the wheelchair to the bed. This was all explained to them when they came to do the assessment. The lady that they sent weighed 100 pounds, so she did not have the strength to move my mom. They called in a second helper in when it was time to transfer her, and then they charged us for 2 people. I complained, and he took the charge off for the second person. They told us they would not be able to help us in the future.

The caregiver from Visiting Angels was fine. However, we needed a CNA and it was the main thing. We needed more than just companionship and making meals for my mother. We also needed somebody who will make sure she takes her meds and who can assist her with the showers. But they weren't as accommodating as we felt we needed. If we call them for a question, they'd give us a call back a day later. I don't want to say anything bad about them because they were there and filled a need for a period of time. But then we realized that we needed to take it a step further. And they are more expensive than a qualified CNA who is doing more for us.
