Caregivers arrived on time. However, the training was not very good. In fact, they did not know what ''Standby Assistance' was. There were problems in that the Caregiver did not write 'Standby Assistance' when it was appropriate. That made a big difference to me as I have Long Term Insurance and it required at least Standby Assistance (2 ADLs). . In spite of my need for care giving, I am pretty independent and do a lot for myself and the demands on the caregiver were really quite minimal.There was no heavy lifting or transferring. I also had interactions with the account manager who was aloof and not really interested in my 'side of the story'. I would not recommend her if the need arises. She has been with Right at Home for a long while but most people do not interact with her. I needed her to get involved because of the terminology of 'Standby Assistance'. The agency itself, Timothy (caremanager) was responsive.

The regulars are excellent, but the others need more training. One of the disappointments I have is that they need to staff more. We always run into a problem. Some of the people that they put in there aren't really trained enough to be able to handle things. They send people that say they've had training with a Hoyer lift, but they haven't really. We're not a training ground. We need people who meet his level of care. The steady people are good and have gotten to know him. If you send him someone new, he has a hard time warming up to them.
