I am a friend or relative of a resident

The rooms in Luther Manor are in good size except maybe they need to add a couple of nice chairs for visiting. The residents have to bring their own tables and chairs from their homes. They could make it a little more suitable if the whole family is visiting instead of having to go down. They have a big lounge area but that's usually filled with residents in their wheelchairs. The wing or the aisle that my uncle is in, really doesn't have a nice sitting room for the family to be able to take him out and visit in a family type room instead of his own bedroom.

My uncle mentioned that the food there is pretty good.

The day aides were not quick to respond or caring. However, there are two gentlemen who work in the evening who are very attentive, very caring and very kind to my uncle.

They have some activities there like music. The facility is always very clean and nice. The people are friendly. Their social worker is wonderful. If you call her, she returns your call.

I visited this facility

Lutheran Manner is a decent place to live/stay. They amenities are on par with what you would expect with a nursing home/ assisted living facility. The staff are very friendly and are very competent with their medical knowledge. Although the facility itself is quite old, it is very well maintained. The rooms are a nice size with all of the amenities that can be expected with a skilled nursing facility. I don't know how much it would cost to be a resident at Lutheran Manner, but it appears as if it would be very expensive. My experience with this facility was only as a CNA student doing my clinical practicum. Therefore, I had a good understanding of their medical operating practices. I can comfortably say that I would want my family member staying at this place. Like I had mentioned previously I do not know how much this Lutheran Manner costs and would not know how affordable it would be. That being said, if you're in the greater Milwaukee area and looking for a assisted living facility I would recommend Lutheran Manner.

I visited this facility

We spent a fair amount of time in an outdoor garden that was a very nice space, perfect for meeting with family members. It was a relaxing, stress-free, comfortable space that was a much more pleasant setting than a meeting room or personal room would have been. Overall, the facility was modern, well-kept, and clean, although it felt a little institutional and sterile. The smell throughout the facility was off-putting as well - but that may be just due to the difference in age between myself and the residents. The staff were attentive and helpful, they directed us to where we needed to be, and I noticed them taking care of the residents very well. The amenities of the facility were plentiful and well-used, but I feel like some more interesting or exciting spaces and programs could help enrich the lives of the people who live in Luther Manor. Overall, it seems like an excellent retirement/assisted living/nursing facility, and that the quality of life it offers to the elderly would be hard to match.
