I am a nurse in a long term care facility, and i have had many positive experiences working closely with different hospice providers. I had never heard of Odyssey until about a month ago, and these people were the worst thing to ever walk through our facility's front door. Their intent was not on making a patient comfortable, but on euthanizing the patient and making nurses feel incompetent. Their nurses did little more than insist we give morphine or tranquilizers to the patient every hour because she was "restless", even though the patient hadn't shown so muchas a facial grimace or a twitch. When one of our staff nurses refused, the nurse from Odyssey belittled and argued with her in front of the patient and family. I have provided comfort care to countless patients over the years, so I understand end of life needs. Never have I seen such disrespect for fellow caregivers, or disregard for human life.
