VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit At Hearthstone

I wish that I would have had the opportunity to research this place prior to sending my Mom there. Staff not attentive enough. I had an uneasy feeling about that prior to leaving her there. She barely made it through the night and passed before the light of day. I am left with a feeling of guilt for not following my gut about this place.

My father in law passed at the Vitas Hospice unit after being inpatient hospice at one of the largest hospitals in Dallas. The difference in care was much more specialized in comfort care than being in the larger hospital and the staff at the hospice unit were so caring. It was a comfort just to he was being taken care of and would be comfortable in the end.

Never would I put anyone at the location in Irving. I put my father there being told they were so good and attentive. No one checks even close to being often on the hospice patients in the back left to die. The rooms were dingy and dirty and the sheets were full of hair and dirt before my father was to be admitted. His oxygen tank was completely dry of water and they kept him drugged so that they did'nt have to mess with him. The girls on shift went to smoke often and smelled like a bar and then went to see patients. Do not send your loved ones there!!!!!
