I am a current client of this provider
I wish we had read this review before signing up with Capitol Hospice. My mother was released from the hospital one week ago. During that time Capitol Hospice messed up the discharge. They were not at the hospital to do intake the day discharge was scheduled. They were unclear about the medication they would need when she went home. Prescriptions (even for pain) were not handled properly. It is hard to get nurses. The hospice doctor is not able to handle the complications of the case. And we find our selves back in the hospital one week later. The suspicion (from Mother's original physician) is that the medicine hospice had her switch providers for is the reason for the unanticipated rapid deterioration. This is for the Fairfax Virginia provider. And yes, it is hard to get the nurses to call back. The services are less than we were told. Unfortunately my Dad who is 80 is making all the decisions. I am just hoping, if Mom survives this hospitalization, I can get him to change companies.

We have been using Capitol Hospice for several months at my father's home. They are incredible! They have staff available 24/7 for consultations, caregiver help, assistance in the home whenever & whatever we need from them. They not only help my father who is the patient, but my mother, his care giver too.
Staff is knowledgeable, gentle, & accommodating with my parents. But even more importantly they listen to the patient.
I can't say enough about them. They are a wonderful resource.
