As a professional in the region, I have referred clients to Harbor Hospice, which is an agency that provides medical care & comfort to persons who are terminally ill, in their home or home-like setting. This agency covers Austin, Tx & surrounding area.
This agency's main focus is on providing comfort, rather than treatment, and emphasizing quality of life, not quantity. One son, of a patient, shared his thoughts: "They (staff) are very good, so sensitive to Mother's needs & to all of us in the family. They gave us the gift of some real time with our Mother, had some real talks. We thank each of them so much." Other clients had similar positive comments.
This hospice agency seems to provide excellent care & support to patients & families dealing with the difficult reality of death & dieing.
