Girling Home Health

As a professional in the area, I have referred clients to Girling Health Care, which provides home health services to people living in a 7 county area from Wharton, Tx.

PROS: The major plus of this home health agency is that they provide a full array of in-home medical care by skilled, licensed professionals to seniors in need. Another plus is that an individual care plan is developed and then a RN oversees the overall plan to ensure each patient's needs are met.

CONS: Many clients have told me that they have had problems with poor care as well as staff just not showing up at their home as scheduled to make a visit, with no phone call to cancel or let them know what was going on. This can be very upsetting & disruptive to a senior and their family (especially if a family member took off work to be present for the scheduled visit). Also, clients have complained of high staff turnover, as one senior told me: "I never see the same person twice, I don't know why?"

OVERALL:
This agency does seem to deliver good in-home care most of the time, but there does seem to be some problems regarding staff turnover & communication with seniors & their familes regarding scheduled visits.
