Alpine Home Care

I visited this facility to do some volunteer work. The facility is older and definitely has a smell to it. The overall appearance could use some updating as the walls still have 1980's style wallpaper with old drapes. It just doesn't make the facility look clean or really look inviting to people. The patients that I sat with and talked to all seemed to be quite lonely and did mention they wished they had more activities and things that they could do here. I did talk to a couple of the nurses and they were very short with me and just acted as though they did not need me there to sit with patients and just visit. This was a little strange as other nursing homes I volunteered at were always thrilled to have volunteers that would play checker with their patients and just be friendly with some lonely elderly patients. I have heard that they do a good job with the home care department where they actually visit patients at their own homes to check on them and to provide them with support. For this aspect, Alpine Home Care is a good recommendation as they do really well helping patients that just need a little monitoring at their own home.
