The owner was nice but the quality of the paperwork was terrible. First of all it took 5 weeks to get the death certificate. He said the Dr had dad’s last name spelled wrong and that had to be corrected but it sounded to me like the funeral home had that for awhile before they processed it and discovered the error. When I did get the certificate it had a number of other errors on it such as my (the executor’s) zip code. This was also wrong when the certificates were mailed making them take even longer to arrive. Dad’s dad’s name was spelled wrong as was his place of employment (Capillen instead of Caterpillar). Fortunately none of these errors made the certificate unusable, it was just irritating when we know we gave the information correctly, in some cases spelling & repeating it. Then they mailed Dad’s ashes to his home when we specifically requested they be sent to me. Dad lived alone so the ashes ended up at the post office. No family lives in the same town as Dad so there was no one to retrieve them. Fortunately after stressing about what to do since if they were returned to Cason’s we couldn’t have gotten them back in time for the planned burial & memorial service, I was able to get the funeral home taking care of the burial of the ashes to go pick them up. No one needs this unnecessary stress when they're grieving and trying to take care of an estate.
