I visited this facility

We have been to Grace Ridge. It's a very nice place. They had a main structure with assisted living and skilled nursing, plus they had apartments and also offered cottages. It's a pretty large place. It's very expensive. My mother knows a lot of people who are there. This is also just a retirement facility for single elderly people. The staff was friendly. They have arts and crafts, exercise, trips, anything that you could imagine that someone with a higher income could afford to do themselves in their own residence. They provided transportation back and forth to doctors' offices. It's a little too expensive for most people, but they have good security.

The food is excellent. We have friends that go and meet other friends who live there, and everyone seems to love the food there. It's specially prepared and it isn't like some other places I've been. It’s a notch above, really. That would be a place that we would consider.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Retirement living is at it's best at Grace Ridge; unbelievable view of the mountains; delicious food served restaurant style; response to maintenance needs extremely prompt; employees genuinely care about the residents. Recently adopted a pet residency policy. Current interior renovations promise to make it an even more beautiful place to call home. My friend couldn't be happier; can't wait til I move in.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother-in-law is 87 years old and is in an assisted living facility. Her room in this facility is much like a hospital room. It has nicer curtains and a matching bedspread, but the bed is a hospital type that is adjustable. Personal pictures and mementos are around the room to make it more homey. She has a small closet for the clothing that she brought with her. She has a private bathroom with a shower, but no bathtub. She has her own TV with cable. She has a landline telephone and the call button if she needs it. The facility is fully staffed with nurses and CNA's, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Her doctor or one of the doctors in his office stops by to check on her about once a week, unless she needs care sooner. She has limited mobility and requires, at minimum, a walker to get around. She selects her meals from a limited menu that is brought to her ahead of time. My wife and I think the food is prepared well and is of good quality, although my mother-in-law would like to have even greater variety. She can request drinks and snacks at any time, including ice creamHer initial investment in this facility was over $200,000 and her monthly costs are about $2500. This does not include the medical care provided by the doctor which she covers with Medicare and a supplemental policy.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Grace Ridge is located in Western NC with many apartments having a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge mountain range. They provide excellent services such as van transportation to grocery stores and doctor appointments. Residents have the option of maintaining a private car or using the facilities of Grace Ridge. There's a computer lab and a well stocked library, a dining room with chef providing food that rivals five star restaurants. Interesting concerts and events are planned for the community. If necessary, residents move into the healthcare facility with ease. The staff are knowledgable and very helpful.
