North Chandler Place was still being renovated and updated when I toured it, but it was a nice place and the staff was great. They had games, a pool, a gym, and exercise programs. The tour I had was good. The staff was great and they were very welcoming. It was located near restaurants, but I wasn't too thrilled that it was off the highway.

We have North Chandler Place for my dad, and he has moved in. They worked well with us, they were super flexible, super responsive, and just friendly. His apartment is very spacious, and they're willing to let him personalize it. They're willing to let him, like, paint and put in his own fixtures, and stuff like that. So that's kind of cool. They offer transportation, they have activities, grocery shopping, and they have a doctor that comes on site. They have a little clinic on site.

I toured North Chandler Place. It is an old community. I think the aesthetics could have been a bit more appealing. I know that they are in the process of upgrading as they can get to it, but some areas could have been a bit better presented. The staff I met were very accommodating and very nice. They seemed genuine. They have transportation within a 10-mile radius. If you go beyond the 10 miles, it is like $2 a mile for those extra miles, and they charge that on your account. They have a small gym, and they have a beauty and a barber shop as well. They have activities, they have bingo, they have a room that is considered a movie room, and they have a library. They have several different rooms. They have trips outside of the community. Although they have 24-hour security, they're right on Price Road, and to me, that is almost on the freeway. I just didn't feel safe. I felt it was just too open because it's not gated or anything from what I saw.

The staff at North Chandler Place was really outstanding. I actually got to tour with the supervisor of the memory care unit and she was excellent. I've gotten a lot of tours with salespeople/community representatives and they do a good job, but interacting with somebody who is actually there, working with the residents, to me, means a whole lot more. The rooms were spacious and looked good. There's a lot of common areas and they were very well furnished. They were playing games and listening to music. Nobody was sitting in a room doing nothing.

I visited North Chandler Place. It was pretty rundown and was not as nice as the other places I toured. I saw the assisted living side and I saw a community-type area, but it was definitely in need of improvements. I saw an empty assisted living room, and I believe there were appliances. It's almost as if they took an old rundown apartment complex and converted it into assisted living, so it was very apartment style, and they had a lot of outdoor space, but it was more like an outdoor space of an apartment rather than any type of courtyard. The staff member who gave the tour was really nice and knowledgeable, but he was just not working with a product that was very appealing. It wasn't a place that I would want to put my father.

North Chandler Place had been an apartment complex. The dining room and all of the activities were in separate buildings and in order to get to those, you had to walk outside either in the heat, the rain, or the cold to get to the dining room. It was old. It desperately needed to be renovated and they were in the process of doing that, in fairness to them. It was the least expensive that we looked at. The gentleman that gave us the tour was very nice. He was very enthusiastic about the place because all these wonderful things are going to happen to it. He was very personable. It just needs renovation, all of the furniture in the lobby, the dining room, and the carpet in the hallways. I saw two apartments and those had been renovated. One of them would have served us well except the facility wouldn't work for us.

North Chandler Place was kind of a very spread-out campus, much larger than most of the other places. They do both assisted living and independent living. I was focused on the assisted, not so much on the independent living. They had a nice little pool and a little putting green. It had kind of a more park-ish atmosphere than most of the other places. If that's what you're looking for, especially independent living, I think that would be nice, but that's not what I was looking for, so I didn't pay too much attention. It was very nice. The apartment had a little kitchenette space. The staff was super nice and very patient.

Provider Response

Thank you for your review, Todd. We're glad you loved the campus! We do have lots of great amenities here at North Chandler Place for all our residents to enjoy! Thank you for visiting the campus and hopefully we will see you back again very soon!

We visited North Chandler Place. They're under new management, and they're doing a lot of repairs. It's rather rundown looking and the rooms were kind of in need of upkeep. The staff was very nice, pleasant, and accommodating, and they were very good. They had a big pool and a courtyard with some activities outside. It's in a kind of a wooded area so it's nice, but the rooms and buildings were in serious need of repair. And they're already doing that but it's gonna be a long process, I didn't wanna move in, then move out of my room so they can remodel my room. It's in a nice location and they've got the right idea, but they're so far behind on the upkeep.

The site manager at North Chandler Place was well informed and very helpful in giving an honest evaluation and walkthrough of the property. We were looking at the memory care, and they provide good care and are attentive to the needs and interests of their residents. So, it seemed like a good organization and a good property. Things were clean and organized. We liked the campus environment. The buildings were set apart and it was kind of nice. It has plenty of outdoor space for people to walk around and to hang out if they so desire. I think they're doing a good job with that. It's a little bit of an older facility, but it's well-maintained and attractive.

North Chandler Place was very good. I spoke with Catherine. She was so helpful. She was really pretty fabulous. I looked at all of the levels of care. If my aunt had a fall, they even have a rehab center there, and to me, that was the best, because she would never have to leave the facility. I ran into a lot of staff being there, and they just all seemed very friendly. The rooms were average and a little dated. They were not as nice as the other facilities. They had a whole calendar of events. They were pretty thorough activities they have going on. The walking around area was beautiful. It was nice and big. They have large sidewalks. Everything is even for people to walk on. It was excellent. They had activity rooms, a cinema room, and a meal room if you want your family over for gatherings. They had a lot of things like that there that I thought were great.

I went to North Chandler Place. I liked it. The apartment was bigger than the other place I went to, and then there was more room in it. The lady that showed me around was nice and friendly. I just felt more comfortable there. The one I looked at was like a one-bedroom, it had a kitchen and a bedroom and a living room and everything. The dining area looked nice, it looked like a nice area. The surroundings were nice, it was pretty. It seemed like a nice place. She told me there were a lot of activities, a lot of stuff to do. I saw people sitting around.

I visited this facility

I toured North Chandler Place. There was sufficient parking there, I was able to park in a spot close to the identified office. That office was for the assisted living area, and I had to be escorted over to the independent living area, which was spacious grounds. This is one of the biggest grounds that I had been into. The buildings are two-story and so it's spread out. There's a lot of grassy common area, which was fantastic. It's well kept up. There had been a storm and so there had been some tree branches blown down and they were working on those and had them almost all cleaned up by my time at one o'clock. But there were still a couple they had to be working on. They have all three level there. They have independent, assisted, and memory care in the back area of the program. There's covered parking, which was really neat. There was plenty of parking spaces. They have quite a few rooms available that are not full right at the moment. I got to see a couple of really nice rooms. They are a little bit more spacious than the other two that I have seen, and the layouts were nice. It's probably a little bit older facility, but it's well-kept, so it's a favorable facility. The only drawback I had is that by being so spacious, it also had a lot of pedestrian need. In other words, to do anything, it would require significant walking. And that's a little bit of a problem for me. But the spaciousness, the closeness of being able to park close to where your apartment would be, though, all of those were very, very favorable. The staff was very, very cordial. It took a little while for her to get to me because they didn't really know that I was coming. They said it was an impromptu tour rather than one that was set up and all decked out. We went to an office and discussed all of the attributes and the amenities that were afforded and their very, very varied activities. I got to see their meeting room, their meal room where they feed, and it's all very favorable. The biggest drawback was it's on a one-way street and so you only have one exit that allows you to get out of the place. It has to go almost a half a mile to a major intersection. And so, the convenience of the place was a little bit more, but the services they provide counteracted that. The staff was very knowledgeable and very accepting and was willing to tell me everything that I was interested in.

North Chandler Place was wonderful, and it was very good. I like that it has a lot of the older big trees that give a lot of shade on the campus. They have a lot of pathways. They had renovated the apartments and everything, and the apartments were very nice. From what I saw, the director (I think her name was Kathleen) was super, super good at what she does. It was just a really good place. They had meals and stuff that's included there. The facilities are very clean and excellent.

My friend moved into North Chandler Place. So far, so good. We've had a few issues, but they're working with us. I'm not gonna say anything bad about it. They're making sure that his medicines are ordered on time, but he's taking them by himself. The only thing we've had issue with is the internet access, and they told us it will be included. I liked everybody I talked to. They were very agreeable. They provide meals, clean his apartment once a week, do linen if he leaves it out, and help him where he needs to be helped. I've had several meals with him, and it is all good. It's an older facility. It shows its age; but by the same token, they've done some remodelling and that's nice. It has a lot of green areas. It's actually very nice.

North Chandler Place was nice. They're very charming, and the location for me was great. It was one straight shot from where I live. Even though it was near the E-way, it was very well designed so that the E-way didn't really affect you. Every apartment had a balcony, which is a big plus living in Arizona, you get the good sunlight and fresh air. The staff was phenomenal. They had a fitness center, a cafeteria or lunch place where you can choose to eat, and a hair salon onsite. There's a Wall of Veterans, which I really love. Everyone was charming and had a great personality. The young lady who helped me tour the property called and checked, and it wasn't bias trying to leave one way or the other, it was more just making sure that my grandmother found what she was looking for. The structure of the place was nice, it had a good homey feel, and they're carpeted throughout. Some older people like that homier feel versus commercial feel.

I was able to tour North Chandler Place. The tour was very good, and they were nice. It just did not fit for my mom. It was too far between buildings, and they only had two meals instead of three. The rooms were nice, and the staff was very good. The place was kind of older, and the floor plan was not as nice, I think; although it was big.

Provider Response

Don, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to come tour with us. We do understand that our community style and age is not right for everyone. We have five floor plans at a reasonable price so anyone can have a carefree lifestyle in retirement that they deserve. We include two meals per day in the rent but we do have three meals available. The third meal is available for $200 more per month so our one bedroom with three meals is still just $2300. We do hope you were able to find the right place for your mom.

Father in law stayed here and was transported by emergency to Chandler Regional hospital by ambulance. The following day family went to this place to collect his wedding ring, watch, cell phone and wallet (cash, credit cards and drivers license). None of this or his belongings were here nor did ANYONE have a process or procedure to secure personal possessions when residents are transported away in an emergency. My father in law passed away days later and still no one at this place has any procedure for this tragedy should this occur again.. If your loved ones stay here, watch your valuables.

North Chandler Place is wonderful. My apartment is lovely and shaping up nicely. The staff is wonderful. There's a library, outdoor and indoor exercising. They've got it all. They've got games, cards, and swimming. They have three heated pools. There's a little putting tournament every week. They've got all kinds of activities. The food has been fine. All of these facilities are expensive, but their price is competitive.

Dear MK, Thank you for your wonderful review! We appreciate you being part of the North Chandler Place family. Sincerely, Kathleen

I had my parent at this facility and they were and are wonderful. Each and every person goes out of their way to assure comfort and treat everyone like family. Staff members are very involved and committed to all their patients and their health. The staff goes out their way to greet you smile and ask how your doing. They involved me in everything about my parent. Big private rooms with big TV's and phone lines that you can reach your loved one directly at anytime. I ate meals with them every evening and the food was good In fact we were so happy that they decided to stay and have moved into IL and I have not seen them happier in years.

I found a place I wanted to stay, and I’m here now. It is is bright and cheery, and the people -- both those that work and live here -- are friendly. The food is fine. We visited five or six communities, but this one had the most of what we needed.

We chose this facility because it not only had the independent living apartment for me but also had memory care for my companion. There is only a driveway between the two buildings so it is easy to visit. I am walking more and feel healthier but if needed golf carts and drivers are available. The scenery is beautiful and there is a pool and spa. Food is excellent

They help with all different areas of senior living, and it’s huge. What I really liked about it is that my sister would be in the nursing area where she would get physical therapy, and then if she got stronger, then she could go into assisted living, so it's like graduating to the next level. The physical therapy was right there on campus, and there is a pool so everything was in one complex. The rooms are nice and roomy; the bathrooms are good. I like the part where they can sit in there, and the water spout was within reach. The staff was very nice like the young lady that gave us a tour. She was accessible on a Sunday; she came in for that. She was very helpful and answered every question that we had.

I was treated very well here. The staff was very nice and very friendly. I think everything was fine. My husband is disabled, so I was trying to get my head around where we could be to help him and help me, but I’m not there yet. I would not give it the best mark on being attractive. When we went to look at the place where we are going to live, they were not that wonderful. The amenities that they presented -- you know the meals and all that -- might be for a person that's ready for that; and I wasn’t ready for it since I still cook.

Their memory care has a high level of care, and we found that the facility was equivalent to a home environment and the kind of care that Mom needed. It was what we were looking for, and it was actually very nice, as we were able to decorate the rooms for her. Her caregivers were very kind and were attached to her. They did everything with their abilities to give her the most pleasant experience she could have. They did a great job.

I like the large one-bedroom because there was more room. I have trouble with my eyes that's why I need some space. I didn't like their smaller one-bedrooms. I did try eating there and food was very nice. Also the staff seemed nice. Regarding activities, they seemed to have quite a bit more of them there and that's pretty good. I like the fact that they go out of town and that's one of the things that I'm looking for. I like to travel and even though I have trouble with my sense of sight, I still can see enough.

Our visit was fine. The facility was clean and nice. The staff was very courteous and very nice. Their service was fine too. They did have a pool and a hot tub and they also provide transportation and activities. We stayed there overnight in one of their rooms. It was fine of course but it was set up kind of like a show rather than as a place you would live in. It was fine, although I didn't like the way the air conditioner and the heating system were installed. They were in a closet right off the room and it was putting out a loud noise which did not impress me.
