I visited this facility
This is a skilled nursing facility that's part of a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). I've had clients there and know it well.
The skilled nursing unit is part of a big campus of independent living and care facilities--about 30 or 35 miles northwest of Detroit city center. The facility itself is nice, fairly new, with wide hallways and lots of windows. It has a bright, open, airy feeling. The rooms are a good size, and there are usually two to a room.
The staff is accommodating, welcoming, and well trained.
About the only real downside is the food. It's institutional: bland fare--cottage cheese, jello, that kind of thing. But overall, this facility is one of the the top choices for skilled nursing in the area. And because it's part of a CCRC, it's convenient for residents who suddenly find themselves in need of skilled nursing care.
