I went to The Seabrook of Hilton Head. It seemed like it had a lot of amenities and a lot of group activities. The man that took me around made sure that everyone coming by was introduced to me. They were very glad to talk to me. They all liked the place. One man said he wished he moved there 10 years earlier. He liked it so much. People seemed to really be enjoying the place. There was a library, where you could check out books. A lady was there, and she was getting some books. I didn't taste the food, but everyone that I talked to said the food was good. It was cafeteria style unless you couldn't do it yourself. People seemed to mingle, and there were a lot of people around. It was a rather active place. They had a very nice saltwater pool for water aerobics and swimming. They had a billiard room. If you wanted your family to come and have dinner, you could reserve a room, which was very nice. The people were engaged more than the other place. These people were active and out and about.

My mother lived at The Seabrook in Hilton Head, and she loved it there. They had great activities, the staff was fantastic, and the food was phenomenal. The setting was nice, and the service was great. For activities, they had happy hour, games, cards, and parties. They had a swimming pool, exercise classes, and Bingo. They made it really fun. Their facility was beautiful, the landscaping was gorgeous, and the setting was very tropical and beautiful. The apartments were very nice, some of them you rent per month and some of them you purchase like a condo. My mother was renting and it was great. Her room was large and really nice.

I have a friend that lives in the independent living section of Seabrook of Hilton Head. It was a favorable experience, but I can't really describe that much because I wasn't there very long. I was just there visiting, and my friend seemed pleased with it. I just know from reading brochures that they have movies, lectures, crafts, and outings, but I've never experienced it. The apartment seemed very spacious. You basically purchase it, so any kind of renovations or decorations are left to yourself. They are large, and there are two-bedrooms, three-bedrooms, and they might even have studios. I didn't really see that much of the staff. They have a restaurant that the residents can use, but I did not use it. My friend and I went out. The surroundings are very pretty. The garden has a very coastal influence. It's right on the ocean, and it had beautiful gardens, a lot of lagoons, walking paths, and things like that. Some of their area is covered walking, so you could get from your home to the clubhouse or the dining room without having to be 100% out in the weather.

Seabrook of Hilton Head was nice, but it was a little old. We met a couple of nice people who were very happy there. We had lunch there, and the food was delicious. We saw the menu for the evening which was very enticing. There were tablecloths on the table. Most of the apartments were smaller than what we wanted, but there was one that was large enough for us. It’s really close to where we live, and the staff was very nice.

The Seabrook of Hilton Head didn’t have memory care but had nursing type care which was rated excellent. Everybody was very nice to us and had a little reception with snacks. I wasn't that impressed with it. The price was reasonable because you could either buy in or not, so there was a choice with how you became a member there or if you'd live there. I wasn't too impressed with the grounds or location because it was kind of busy there.

The one we liked the most was Seabrook. It was very nice, and I really liked that it had an outside balcony and outside access from your apartment, which is really nice. You can sit outside and enjoy your coffee. The food was good. It was a small place but very nice. The general atmosphere was very pleasant, nice, clean, and, lovely. The staff was very friendly, too.
