La Posada AZ

I really like the peaceful orchards as you enter the facility. The staff is very friendly with updated buildings and shuttles to nearby places. The cleanliness of the grounds lets me know that they take care of the small details and probably the big ones. The residents seem happy with lots of games and things to do. Different buildings offer specialized care for the many stages and needs of residents. It's placed in a kind of oasis in Green Valley which is mostly desert around the campus but on campus is many acres of green grass and trees. I enjoyed the places to sit outside and enjoy the mild weather as well as the social spaces inside the buildings to catch up with a friend. Parking is plenty at every building although there is no covered parking.

La Posada at Park Center in Green Valley is a beautiful facility set in a safe and lovely location which services most care levels. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, I wanted to stay outside all day and explore the 100+ acres of landscape. There were many areas outside for the residents to sit, relax, and just enjoy the outdoors. The interior is just as exquisite with tastefully decorated and spacious common areas for the residents to entertain friends and family. The community is really like it's own little world, complete with little shops for the residents to enjoy, my favorite being Posada Java, they have the best tasting iced coffees and muffins, I have to stop by every time I visit La Posada! There is an amazing fitness center with everything a person could ever want in order to stay active and physically fit. There is a pool, spa, fully-equipped gym, juice bar, fitness classes, a huge putting green, and lots more. There were a lot of residents using the fitness facility during my tour which was great to see them in their on their own accord and seeing them work so hard at staying active and healthy. I was a little concerned from the start about the facility being so large, I feared that due to the very large number of residents living in the facility that they may be treated more like numbers than people. I was afraid that I would see to much personalized interaction between the staff and residents. However, the staff was so welcoming and they were ready and willing to help me out in any way they could. The residents were busy doing all sorts of things such as reading, socializing, participating in activities, watching TV, and so on. They all seemed very happy and content and if they needed anything a staff member was very close by so they did not have to get up and try to flag someone down for help. One resident told me that one time he was feeling a bit under the weather and was put on bed rest by his doctor for a week, he said that it would have been miserable if it weren't for the caring staff. He said that every morning a staff member would come in with breakfast and the daily newspaper and they would sit there and read the paper together and go over current events, and that they did many neat things for him throughout the week, including in-room activities, and so on. He said that the staff made him feel so special and they made sure that while on bed rest he never became lonely, bored, or depressed. For being such a large facility, I was so happy to find out that the staff are still able to show individualized attention to the residents, and I heard many other stories throughout the day which supported this. The residents also have an awesome volunteer program that they can participate in offering them a variety of opportunities. La Posada is one of my favorite assisted living communities and I would strongly encourage everyone to take a tour. La Posada is the ideal and perfect place for your loved one to call home.
