I am a friend or relative of a resident

I visited my grandfather quite a few times at the Highland Farms Retirement Community before he passed away at the very respectable age of ninety-eight years old. He spent the last seven years of his life there, and never had anything negative to say about the amenities or the staff, though he was such a good natured person in general that I kind of do not think that he would have complained about anything but the most severe of problems. He had always been a very independent person before his stay there though, so I know that it must have been strange for him to depend so completely on others as he did there. He lost his ability to be on his after coming down with pneumonia in china when he traveled there at the age of ninety-one, after his wife passed.I found Highland Farms to be totally adequate for his needs, though it did seem a little dreary and somehow barren, at least on the inside. It does have excellent landscaping though, and he enjoyed going out with his cane to enjoy the outdoors. This is a good place for nature lovers to be, but maybe not for those who like a more upscale living situation. The staff was always very helpful and friendly, and he knew them all by name. I don't think that I would want to spend my last years there, mainly due to how deserted and sparse the hallways and common rooms felt.
