I visited this facility

I am choosing Ventura Townehouse for myself because I would be saving money, and it had everything I wanted. They gave me a lot of incentives to move there. What was wonderful was the amount of open space instead of crowding everything into a small area, and also the amount of windows. It was just a nice open feeling, without being claustrophobic. The staff was just wonderful. They were knowledgeable, cordial, gracious, and charming. The food menu looked great, and everyone in the dining room seemed to be happy.

We liked Ventura Townehouse. They keep you busy all of the time. There were a lot of amenities; they had the most of the ones I visited. They have bocce ball and lots of trips (more trips than anybody else). They had speakers come in. They had musical acts come in, and they had painting. You can get everything there. We were impressed with the staff also. They have lots of staff. Everybody was just very pleasant, very nice, and very helpful. The apartments that we would have been in were outside. They were little cottages and that was the one thing we liked the best about them because we have a pet. They call them garden apartments, and they were very spacious, too. We liked the hours that their restaurants were open, and we liked where they were. They were in the middle of things. We could easily get to shopping on our own. The college is right across the street, so we could go to the programs that they have in their theater. We could walk to that. It was probably our most favorite.

My dad has moved into Ventura Townehouse two weeks ago. It seems like the best value, and it had the nicest atmosphere. The staff are extremely nice, helpful, and very down to earth. It's hard to comment on the activities because COVID had impacted everything, and in the last week, they have just opened up again so that people can eat in the dining rooms, so I think that made a big difference. There's a gym and a billiards area. Upstairs, there's a room for yoga and dances. They have a walking trail, too. The place is very clean. I think the value of money is really good. It's cheaper than most of the places I toured, and the apartment is bigger. There's a lot of freedom in this place. You can come and go and it feels very open, airy, and bright there.

Ventura Townehouse was very expensive, but it was nice. It reminded me of a nice college dorm for old folks. My grandmother at the time lived in both independent and assisted living for a while, but I would go and eat lunch with her or dinner in the cafeteria. It's wonderful from my personal experience and from what my grandmother had been. Anything she needed, they were there. I'm a food person and it was really good. The atmosphere didn't seem like an old-school retirement place. It was nice and uplifting. You have your older folks, but they care. I never heard her ever say anything negative nor did anybody that I had known ever say anything negative about it. From my experience, it's a wonderful place. It was expensive, but if you can afford it, it is nice in Ventura. My only negative is it's expensive but other than that, it's nice. The staff was very nice, very cordial, and always asking "You have everything you need?" Her little apartment or studio was nice. It was nicer than any apartment I had looked at. It had a nice little kitchen, a little living room, bedroom, and bathroom, but all her needs were met and it's on that facility. When she went into the assisted, she had a little glass door, so she had a little patio if she wanted to sit out there. She had a chair and then the restroom, but people were able to go in and check on her regularly . Her bed went up and down, and it was nice and clean. It didn't smell like sometimes those older places do. It was always clean and people seemed upbeat. It was always nice and I always wanted to go and eat. They had arts and crafts and games and things for physical activities because we tried to encourage my grandmother to interact a little bit more. She was happy to be there because she was able to afford it.

Ventura Townehouse had larger spaces and larger outdoor areas. Everybody seemed very nice and I got a two-bedroom apartment. It had a nice space, it was very clean, and looked brand new. They had workout equipment but no swimming pool.

I'm living at the Ventura Townehouse, which is high and above any place that I looked at. There are over 300 people here. There was no place that has what we have here. People from other places have been leaving and coming here because this is so much better. I highly recommend it. They have the most activities, the best dining room, and the finest accommodations. Every room has a balcony and a sliding glass door wall. It's light and airy, and every room has a kitchen. It has more closet space than any place I've ever looked at. They have a wonderful dining room that has a salad bar and wonderful waiters and waitresses, and they have a marvelous baker. There isn't anything you can't do here.

We're staying at Ventura Townehouse. They're very caring regarding the medical care, especially here in the memory care unit, they watch my wife closely, and take care of her medical and daily living activities. They have various activities, like church, bible study, they have catholic mass on Wednesdays, they bring featured song leaders that perform for an hour or so, I can be on men forums, or in singing group that practices or rehearses, and they have various performances. We have a studio with a separate bathroom, full bath, a walk-in shower, commode, and a sink. We have our own furniture in here: a bed couch, TV, desk, computer; we squeeze everything into a very small place, but it's adequate. The food is repetitious, week after week, month after month, year after year, and it's boringly good.

My husband has been in Ventura Townehouse for two weeks now. It is a resort-style, beautiful place. It makes people feel special. The restaurant service model is just like a restaurant. They treat you like a patron, and you can eat whenever you choose from 7 to 7, which is really important. There are activities for everybody. Everybody's included; it's not just a Bingo place. The staff is friendly and professional. It really is a beautiful place. We're very happy there. The apartments are big, too. There's a billiards room, an exercise room, a tailor, and a beauty shop. There are also four grand pianos, a bridge club, a men's club, women's club, and billiards club. There's a lot of music at least three times a week and there's happy hour every Friday. The price is fair.

My father stayed at the memory care of Ventura Townehouse. The staff was good, but it took 2 people to move him all the time. He had the same care as in the other place.

Ventura Townehouse was very nice. I would like to go there when the time comes. The food was very good. They had a health center close by where you could walk to. They could swim there, and it was very nice. They had a little library. They had movies. They would take you on bus trips.

I am at Ventura Townehouse. It’s very old but beautiful. Everybody here loves bingo; that is very popular. We also have happy hour every Friday with wine and cheese. We also have all kinds of games and entertainment. The food that we have is not consistently good, and I think they need to improve that. They also need to improve some of the assisted living programs that they have.

My mom has been at Ventura Townehouse for about a month now. I don’t have any complaints or concerns with it. We were able to get her into a garden apartment because all she needs is independent living. It’s very good so far. The apartment is very nice. The food and the amenities are good. I’m happy with the amenities, which include a workout room, a pool room, and a lot of activities for my mom. She seems to be happy with the cafeteria, too.

My parents have been living in a garden apartment since last year. It took a few months to adjust after living in the same home for 50 years, but they are happy there now and would not go back to their previous home. They like the food and dining room and kind staff. They have a good sized patio for enjoying the Ventura weather. All in all, a good fit for them.

It was very nice visiting the Ventura Townehouse for my parents. The staff during that time was very helpful. Their rooms varied from fine to very nice in terms of size and appearance. The food seemed good to me, and the dining room was beautiful, as well. They also had a wide range of activities on-site and off-site.

It's got six stories, and it’s an old facility, but very neat, clean, and attractive. We were leaning very much towards Ventura Townehouse, but the two people who were in charge there, both my daughter and I got the feeling they don't really care about you. You put your money in there, and they don't really care. We considered it because it seemed like there was a lot to do, a lot going on, and a lot of people participating. It's old, but it's very well taken care of.

I just liked Ventura TowneHouse because it is a lot different from all the rest. All the rest were more indoor and kind of hotel or hospital style. This one my dad is in a cottage atmosphere, so there is some outdoor area. It is fairly small, so it is easy for him to get around. I liked all the people. He doesn't like it because they have a lot of activities. But I think that is good for him. I think they do a really good job.

Ventura Townehouse is very nice. They have single bedrooms, living rooms, huge patios, and common areas for board games. The dining area was nice, and they served anytime from 7AM to 7PM. They bring local musical talent for talent shows, they play bingo and Wii bowling, and there is a pot contest. They have sight-seeing tours, and they take the folks to places.

I have been living here at Ventura Townehouse for two months. It is cheaper and nicer than the other places. It is on 13 acres, and you can walk around it. I liked it a lot better than the other facilities. They do a lot of field trips all the time here, but I don't like to go out in groups. I like to eat, and they serve three meals a day here. We have about three or four different choices for every meal, and they have a salad bar that's available all the time. I enjoy being here.

Ventura Townehouse was a large facility. It's got a high-rise, and they have cottages both in the front of the building and in the back. The front is for memory care, and the back is for anybody who wants to have a dog. They're more of a cottage style, so they're all on one level. They also allow cats. You have your own patio enclosed, and they have much larger square footage for the cost. They're very accommodating if you want a unit that's larger. They have a construction team that will put together two 1-bedrooms. Their food is OK, and they have a really good salad bar. I like that the people were very accommodating. The owner is fairly new, and it's not owned by a corporation. It's run by a single person, and he is very willing to put money into it and do whatever it takes to make all the residents happy. So it's a really nice change of pace. It's not as upscale as the others, but it is nice. The place is older, so that's where they would lose a point. But they've got all the options, so you don't have to move from one location to the other if you need assistance.

I love it here in Ventura TowneHouse. I really am happy. I had a stroke and this is the fourth place I lived. I like this place the best. Everybody is very nice. First time I moved here, I got a studio apartment. I've been getting stronger and therefore I moved out in the gardens. I feel like I'm on my own and I really like that. I've gone back to my hobby which is making jewelry. They have a lot of opportunities for people to get involve in all kinds of things. I like to play games like card games. They have a new game here and it's called Rummikub. They play it almost everyday. When people are playing cards or putting puzzles together, there's always an organist playing older songs.

I like the layout of the building. I live in one of the cottages. We have the freedom to choose if we want to live in the cottage or in the high rise. I like it here living in the cottage. I like the grounds that you can look out and not being in a four-corner little room. The grounds and surroundings are well kept. The people working here are all very friendly. They accommodate us through the best of their ability. All my requests have been taken care of. It's a very friendly place. The residents here are very friendly. I have been here about 4 months and I never had any problem adjusting. The experiences I've had, have been very good. They have activities that you can participate in. They check in the mornings to make sure that we are ok. The food is fine. Some days are better than others but they try hard to improve on the meals.

Ventura Townehouse is very, very nice. The price is better than any place we looked at. It is $2,400 a month and my mom is in bigger room, which is a studio. It has a full kitchen inside, which she doesn’t use because all the meals are included. She's on the third floor and it has a balcony with an ocean view, which is really nice. It is very homey and nice. They also have one and two bedroom apartments. They have a bus that takes them around. The have bingo couple of times a week. They have a beautiful dining area and it is the most impressive place in the area. The chef is very good. He is first class. He comes out and meets everybody. He knows every resident in there. He will cook anything special for them. The food that they have is really good. It is very nice and bright with lots of windows. They have an area outside to walk. They have nursing home and Alzheimer's unit in the area. So, if they need to go there, eventually they can. The staff is very nice. Although she is in the independent living, they watch her and they don't let her leave the bus on her own and I think it is very nice to do that.

Ventura TowneHouse is my favorite from all the facilities I've looked into. It's very sunny and light and it just didn't feel institutional at all. The staff and the facility are very nice. I'm hoping that my mother will get in there. Their apartments are very roomy. There foods are also fresh.

My parents have been living down at Ventura TowneHouse since January. It's been such a God-send. It has a memory-care facility right next door and assisted-living as needed. But it's independent living right now for my parents. It's been awesome. My mother said that she feels like she's in heaven. She's living in paradise. My dad feels safe and comfortable there. I took him shopping last weekend and he said he wasn't comfortable leaving the place. They're absolutely happy. That's what I wanted for them: To be comfortable and happy where they are. It's been such a blessing. My parents come from Central America so they're used to tough times. Everything looks great for them. However, in speaking to other people who are used to the standards of the US, there are certain things that the facility might be able to improve on. The facility looks retro. They're just not quite there yet, but it's been so wonderful for our purposes.

Wow, these folks really know how to care for our seniors! I visited during an event they were having and I was blown away. All the staff was kind, patient and caring towards the residents. Everything was clean and fresh and getting remodeled. I heard there was an ownership change a little while ago, and it looks like they are putting a lot of time and effort into updating and improving things. 5 stars!

The facilities seemed nice and my grandmother said it was like living on a cruise ship. The staff was both responsive and generally friendly. While there I found that many of the staff were unfamiliar with providing internet access or even getting their residents set up on the wifi systems they had available. The dining services were quite good, providing an ample amount of tables and chairs for both residents and guests. Some of the wait staff were a bit unresponsive when we would call for them and the wait times for meals were quite long. I assumed this was due to the large numbers of residents in the dining room that evening. I was informed by other residents that this is not usually the case but that the staff were quite quick when there are less people to serve. In addition to this the facility provided opportunities for fun events for the residents. These included movie nights and other special events like luaus, comedic performers and theatrical groups. Outside of the facility the staff provides a wonderful transportation system to help their residents into and home from the rest of the city.

I haven't move to Ventura Townhomes yet. It is a very pretty place and they have very good food there. I went there for lunch and dinner. There were people who came up to me and said they hope I would move there. The staff were very nice. They're painting the room today with the colors that I chose. We're negotiating about the carpet because I think the carpet in there is very old, but they're not sure if they can do it. They put fresh flowers in their lobby every week. They have their own TV channel where you want to see what's going on in the building and you could turn on your TV to that channel. They also have special place for people with dementia and Alzheimer's.
