My husband is in Grace Park. I like its proximity to my business and my home. It's the best thing around. The staff is wonderful. The food could be a little better. They do everything out there, bingo, shopping, arts, and all kinds of stuff. Everybody's happy, and they're reading books, and everybody seems to like it very much out there. The dining area is beautiful. The rooms are individual for that person. It's kind of like an overgrown hotel room.

I visited this facility

I give Grace Park five stars all across the board. I was supposed to take a tour with a different person, but the person I got is actually the owner of the facility. He was fantastic. He's been doing it for such a long time, and he's well educated. The place was clean. Staffing was complete. He gave us the rundown and showed us the rooms. The rooms were all comfortable. He actually even showed us through the kitchen. Everything was clean and organized. They have different events that they do. They have a nice little outside area and it's secure. The owner is always looking at different options and adding to it. The place has come a long way. They've been there quite a while. I'd give that one just definitely a thumbs up for sure. He went over everything, but we just looked at their independent care. They showed us the rooms. They have a place where you can get your hair done. There's a little salon inside there. There's a nurse there that can help with medications and take care of stuff like that. They had an exercise room, arts and crafts, they sit down and they paint, draw and color. There is plenty to do. There's a library, and there's a little sitting room where you can read. They have three meals. They actually have their menu kind of posted on the wall explaining everything that they have and what they do. It's a full working kitchen. They've got staff that's been there since way back. I like the longevity, which obviously we know in today's world that's hard to establish.

Grace Park is spacious and clean. The rooms are adequate. They have a library there and the activities downstairs are fine, but the activities upstairs (in the memory care) are limited. They don't offer my loved one the attention that she needs. Some of the staff are good and some of them are not. Other facilities have a system where they label your clothes so they don't get mixed up with others, but that's the problem they have at Grace Park, my loved one's clothes are never the right ones. They're not even her clothes. She gets some of them back, but some aren't hers. They also don't give them food for old people. They don't give them enough mashed potatoes, applesauce, baked beans, hot dogs, and stuff that she likes.

Provider Response

Thank you for your feedback. We do have a system set up to help ensure resident's clothing does not get confused with others. Grace Park washes each individual's clothing separately from others and returns them to the resident's closet and dressers. We try our hardest to have our residents' personal belongings in order at all times. We do recommend that families label the inside of their loved ones clothing in order to help prevent any confusion. In regards to our menu we offer a choice of two specials for each meal for both our main facility residents and our dementia residents. In addition to the specials we also offer an always available menu should a resident not be fond of a special. We have hotdogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese, chef salads... just to name a few additional options. Our Executive Director has even made special accommodations for a particular resident who just cant get enough baked beans! Just one of the ways we try to personalize our resident's personal preferences. We strongly encourage any family member to contact a Director in the building should they feel they are not getting the highest quality service.

Grace Park has proven to be the best choice for my grandmother, Val! The community is beautifully decorated and has a very "home-like" feel. The staff have gone above and beyond to make sure my grandmother adjusted well to her new home, routine, and social life. Grace Parks daily social media posts help me to feel connected with my grandmother even when I am not able to visit. Being a first time caregiver for a family member is a tough roll to take on but the girls here make it so easy for me!! It is such a weight off my shoulders having the Wellness staff manage all her medications, appointments, and on-site physician visits. I would recommend this community to anybody looking for senior care for their loved one!

My mom is in Grace Park Senior Living. It's a great place. It really is, and there are no complaints at all about them. People are very nice, personable, and they take care of her. Even if she was in the assisted or primary care, they do a great job there. It's a really nice complex. She has a cottage there, and it's beautiful. In terms of facilities, they probably have everything that you'd expect to find in one of these other places. They have the transportation for them. They take them out on trips and keep them busy. They say it's a good place. I think anybody that goes there will be very happy too. My mom is in independent living, so she makes her own food. She also said she likes the food there.

I toured Grace Park, and I liked it. It was updated, and it fits our family much better. I thought that a lot more of the residents are actively moving about, and the environment was just lovely. The rooms were nice and what an individual would need. I like the access and the availability of help in each room. I also liked the grounds. They were kept very well. There is plenty for them to do there, too. She would be able to do the same things there that she enjoys or partake of. They invited her to come for lunch with the residents, and they're still trying to find a date. We're looking at this place for her to be a part of.

Grace Park was very nice. Everything was impressive. They had a salon and an exercise area. It was open, very rural, and very well maintained. If and when this Corona thing is over, we will probably deal with Grace Park, that is whenever they open it up for visitation. We don't want to put mom in there and then she can't see anybody. It was a clean and very well-staffed place.

I took a tour of Grace Park. It looked beautiful, but they told me they had a bed for my mother, and then they told me they no longer had a bed available. I was moving my mother up from New York, and so I was not very happy with them. It's a very classy place. Kelly was very nice, it seemed very clean, and it seemed nice. However, in the dementia unit, the people just leave them there. Or maybe it was just like that when I visited.

My sister is in the dementia ward at Grace Park. The place is lovely. It's the best of any facility that I've seen. The staff is great. I have nothing negative to say. She has a private room and beautiful views, and her own bath and shower. It's just like home. It's in a town, so it feels like a community. I'm very happy with it. I've had a meal with them; it was delicious and delivered hot. There's a kitchen and they cook the food there. She has been eating every single meal. It has more amenities for less money than other nursing homes.

Grace Park is immaculate and clean. The staff is great. The overall feeling of it is welcoming, and as soon as I walked in, I said it was the place for my mom. Everything about it was a positive experience and I feel very comfortable about putting my mom there. I'm so impressed with it. They have a variety of different types of rooms available that you can choose from. They have a dining room where they are given a menu. We had lunch there and it was outstanding. I would recommend it to anybody.

Grace Park has more activities than similar residences; food seems to be average. Aides seem attentive to residents. I can see why the theme from employees about Grace Park (rated on Indeed) is "management doesn't know what they're doing." Their communication with family on important issues is appalling and unfortunately they've done a couple things where family and friends wonder "is that even legal?" and other organizations say "yes, that isn't typical for a senior living center to do" so we don't trust Grace Park anymore. They do show they are in the BUSINESS of caring for your loved one.

Provider Response

Dear ChadiLam, I am sorry if your experience was less than positive. After 15 years in business, we are normally known for our exceptional family communications. My name is George Loudon, I am the Executive Director and Owner. I would appreciate if you would call me, so I can get the details of your experience. Feedback is a gift and we are always working hard to improve our residents/families experience. Thank you for your insight.

Grace Park had cottages, apartments, assisted living, and a lockdown. The staff who toured us around was very nice and helpful. We had lunch, and the food was delicious, like in a restaurant. The place was very nice, neat, and up to date. They had a gym, beauty parlor, TV room, and game room.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My Dad moved into Grace Park several months ago. He is 88 with multiple serious chronic diseases. We looked at several assisted living places and this was, by far, the best. I learned that is a private, family-owned business and I've talked with one of the owners at family-day events (these seem to be held once every 2-3 months, where families are invited to enjoy a special meal and event with their loved one). I also see him regulary when I go to visit my Dad. Clean, with home-y decorations, friendly staff, on-site RN, and medical check-ups, blood work. They offer a full range of care levels, from independent cottage living, to the more typical supportive care, and finally to hospice and lock-down Alzheimer's care. Cost increases with level of care and size of room. Cost seems average to slightly higher than average. Social activities daily. Off-site activities like shopping, movies, special events. Weekly transportation to doctor appointments. I've eaten lunch with him 2 times and the food is good. They adjust meals to special diets. Some caregivers provide services on site, like a podiatrist. There is a salon, and weekly Christian worship services. The other residents are generally friendly. I am extremely happy with this place! His quality of life, socially, emotionally, and physically, is much higher than when he was living on his own in an apartment, with home health aides coming to help out. If I ever need assisted living, Grace Park is where I would choose to go!

We were able to check Grace Park and look at some of the rooms. We liked it. That's one of the places that we're looking at. It looked nice. It is on the main street but yet when you're in the village, it is like you're off the main street, which is nice.

My mom was at Grace Park and she chose it herself. It was one big building and she had her own room. I liked that they did a lot of activities with the residents and kept them busy. Although I needed to transfer her eventually because they did not have assisted living facility. I would recommend this to other people who could live independently.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Mom is 93 and she's been staying in a place in our hometown called Grace Park and it is somewhere I know she will be comfortable. It's a fairly good size establishment and it has lots of people around. The people are helpful and they have registered nurses. The fundamentals of taking care and treatment of elderly there are good. I am very pleased so far. My mom could easily go into a nursing home, but they are trying to keep her active and moving. They encourage her to walk to the dining room and if she can't make it to the dining room, they will provide a meal for her. They have a doctor to go there to check them. They got a very active social life. They have transportation for trips to do shopping. They even have beauty parlors for them. May be they just need to improve on the inter-personal relationships with the families and could use additional staff, but they've done a pretty good job so far and my mom is happy there. It's a bit costly, but I recommend it to others.
