New Broadview Manor Home For Adults

This is not one of the facilities that I visit regularly - I have only been there once but I really, really liked what I saw and experienced there and while I know that I do not have a solid understanding of the facility, how smoothly it is ran, the day-to-day operations, resident care and treatment, and everything else and I realize that I only witnessed how the staff were with the residents for less than an hours time so I don't know if the care and treatment I saw provided during my visit is the way the residents are cared and treated all of the time. So, don't get me wrong - I KNOW that I really know hardly anything about the facility, however, I know what I saw that day during my visit and if it is like that everyday than this would be an exceptional place for residents to call home.

New Broadview Manor is an adult home offering assisted living services to their residents and I was very impressed with the care and treatment I saw being provided to the residents. The staff was so patient and kind to each resident, I could tell by the way one of staff members were talking to the residents that she knew the residents very well. I was told by a family member that happened to be there that all of the staff members are like that - that they all know the residents personally. He said that the staff members are really able to put the residents minds at ease while caring for them - he said that if they are upset or nervous or scared or anything else that they know just what to say to each one of them to help calm them or to get them to smile or laugh. He said that it is one of his favorite qualities in the care team here - he said that it is hard to find staff members who take the time to get to know residents that well, so he is SO thankful that he found that kind of staff for his mom in this facility.

Another thing that I found out about this facility that I really like is that the same management team has been running the facility since the early 80's. That is pretty rare to find in a facility, especially such a good management team which all the residents and families like. The residents that I spoke to during my visit and the few family members that were there all had wonderful things to say about the management. One of the main comments were that they REALLY listen to the residents - they really take each residents concerns, complaints, suggestions, and feedback about the facility to heart - whether it's negative or positive. The residents say that if they have an issue with something and they bring it to the attention of the resident that they are ALWAYS taken seriously and they are ALWAYS followed up with to make sure that their issue had been tended to/resolved in a satisfying manner. That is huge. When you can find a management team that really listens to the residents than that is a management team and a facility to seriously consider. You want to know that your loved ones have a say, that they are heard, that their concerns are taken seriously and from what I hear that is exactly how the managers are in this facility.

I think New Broadway Manor is definitely a facility to check out if you are searching for Assisted Living in the Staten Island area. The staff and management team, from what I saw and heard, are exactly the type of people you want caring for your loved one's when they are no longer able to completely care for themselves. The residents, as far as I could tell and from the things they said to me, seem to be very happy, very comfortable in the facility and they seem proud to call New Broadway Manor home.
