I visited this facility

Being that my dad was already at another facility, we already had an experience of a senior facility. Going to the Marian Manor of Stafford was a major, major step down for us. It was a house. They have an outdoor area, which was nicely set up for people to walk out if they want to. It wasn't as well kept. It had a lot of clutter there. The director was a major sweetheart. She was very, very nice. When we walked in there, it must have been their resting period because they were sitting in a living room. Everybody was watching TV, and everybody was in a recliner with a blanket. Nobody was up moving, and nobody was up walking. Maybe it was their resting moment. The memory care where my dad is they have some walkers. They're constantly walking around or something is always being done. These people here at Marian Manor of Stafford were all just like zombies. It was like a living room, and then it was connected to a kitchen. I saw a couple of people back there, but they were all just sitting at a table. It's just being inside of a house. It is a grandma home feel. That's how I would describe it, like a grandma home feel. If you like that grandma home feel, then that would probably be a good place. It is very small and intimate. It's got that old-style feel.

My father moved into Marian Manor of Stafford. I like that it's a small community. So there's more attention, more caregiving, and more one on one. It is an older house, so it's dated but clean. The furniture is very comfortable. It's very well maintained. The grounds outside are beautiful. Most of the staff members were very friendly, outgoing, and very caring. They do have people come in, concerts, singing, and a lot of activities. They have transportation to medical appointments and someone to come in for hair. They do their own laundry.

My mother is on the waiting list for Marian Manor of Stafford. It's all in one facility there. Everything was really nice there; we liked it a lot. The rooms were also nice and clean, and the staff member who gave me the tour was very informative. The dining area was fine, although we haven't tried the food. When we were there they weren't doing activities, but they were having lunch. We chose this community because the person we met with told us how they care for the resident each day. They have a routine schedule which we liked the best.

This place was charming! Very homey. The director clearly had every single residents best interest at the forefront. Everyone seemed very well taken care of. There didn't seem to be a lot of activities but I think it was tailored to fit what the residents liked to do. Didn't consider this place just because we needed a 2 bedroom apt and they don't offer this.

Marian Manor of Stafford is mostly for people who suffer dementia and Alzheimer's. It’s a very small place, but the staff was nice. The rooms were all shared and so was the bathroom. It wasn't suitable for my mom because she's still in the right frame of mind.

I visited this facility

Marian Manor of Stafford had a homey feeling. It was smaller and more personal because of the size. The staff was good. Although they may not offer everything that everyone else has, the people there genuinely show they care. My wife enjoyed the food. Periodically, I take her there for a couple of hours so she gets familiar with the place. When I was there, I saw the staff walking my wife around and that was special to me.

Marian Manor of Stafford is where we have my mother-in-law now. We are very pleased with it. She has dementia, she’s Japanese, she's 87, and she’s a difficult placement. After about the first day or two, she had some big adapting to do, but after that, she settled right in. She’s quite happy. She’s made a little circle of friends, and she’s happy as a lark. It’s everything that we could not provide for her at home. The place is a little bit older, so it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like some of the new ones. The care that she gets is fabulous. It’s just a small amount of people -- 39 or less -- and they all socialize with each other. They do everything together so they don’t have an opportunity to get lonely. It was a good fit because the place was cozy and quaint, with hummingbird feeders outside. The surroundings are kind of off into the forest area. It was more like home. When we placed her, they asked us what food she preferred. They went out of their way to accommodate her. The meals look awesome -- much better than where she was before -- and she’s happy to eat them. She loves the food, and she’s eating more regularly. The cook is from the Philippines, and in the afternoon, she makes my mother-in-law’s favorite green tea in a pot so she can have afternoon tea. That’s something that she’s done all her life, so it’s been really good.

The people at Marian Manor of Stafford seemed to be very happy. There was a dog there that was a nice feature. It was a nice facility. The staff was very accommodating. The nurse was showing us around, and she was very knowledgeable.

My mother has been a resident of this facility for more than a year. As many others have stated, the care is exceptional and personal. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the facility. Thank you for taking care of my mother in such a loving, caring and professional way.

Mom has been in Marian Manor of Stafford for over two months, and I'm very pleased with the treatment she is receiving now. It is less expensive, and a lot of people live there. There's a chapel, and mom is Catholic. I very much like the staff because they are very personable and kind to all of the patients, and I like the interaction that they have together. There are nurses instead of just med techs. The place is clean and presentable but not fancy; they put the emphasis on the health of their people. They have a TV in their community room and Mom has her own recliner chair. I know she is being well cared for in this place.

My father is in Marian Manor, and everything seems fine so far. I haven't had any problems with them. My father shared a room with the guy; a couple of beds, and a couple of dressers. It’s nice-enough, clean, and spacious. The food seems okay. He hasn’t complained. I don’t have any complaints at all so far, either.

My dad died there after 5 years of care. I can not say enough about these people or Marian Manor. They gave so much love and care to my dad, that I can not even describe how good the care was. I know dad was often a pain in the behind, but not once did the staff ever describe him as anything but wonderful. I know this place is not the newest in town or have high rise Hilton affect, but what it lacks in bells and whistles, it makes up for in care. I am grateful to them for loving dad, looking after him and making sure his last days were comfortable. Thank you again.

My father-in-law is at Marian Manor. They are taking very good care of him. We are very pleased with their level of service and caring. They're exceptionally professional, very caring, and understanding. For my father-in-law's condition and how we were used to seeing him, physically he looks a whole lot better. They're capable of taking care of both the highs and the lows that a person has. The facility is not the newest and brightest, but they're very highly focused on the residents. I'm impressed with their understanding. They have answered every question that we have had and every concern that we have had regarding my father-in-law's care. They haven't done anything to give us concern, but when we've come up with a question of what if or how do we do certain things, they have given us tremendous guidance.

My wife is now at Marion Manor. The place is located in 12 acres of land out in the country, and it is a small facility. She is bedridden, and the staff checks her meals as she is on a pureed diet. I would rate that good.

My father passed away there recently. I myself am a MD, which I think allows me to speak to the care he received. Outstanding. Dad thrived in the environment;eating well,up walking around and overall, happy. I am more than pleased with the care they provided. One thing that I would like to point out ; kindness. The staff was so kind to my father. In the medical profession,we often see care without personality; meaning, services are there, but nothing more. At Marian Manor, care is mixed with kindness, compassion and professionalism. From the top management to the kitchen workers, you see them providing hugs, smiles and tender moments with the residents there. Compassion and empathy often merit more than any medication can offer. I would like to recognize this team for taking wonderful care of my dad. I commend them for their service, and can be used as a reference to anyone needing confirmation on my beliefs about Marian Manor.

Marian Manor is a nursing home with complete care. My wife has Alzheimer's and is unable to care for herself, and I can no longer help her. I'm completely satisfied with the place. The staff is very good. It's a small place; they have something like 36 or 38 beds. The ratio of staff to patient is very good. It's something like 8:1, and she's very well taken care of. The place is clean. As far as I'm concerned, right now I have nothing but positive feedback. They have a very well-balanced diet, and in my wife's case, it's very good because she had a terrible diet when she was home. She was just living on awful things like hotdogs, Coke, cake, and ice cream. She has lost some weight and seems to be physically improved. I don't have a problem with the security. It's about a mile and a half from the Stafford City Hospital, and it's on a country road. The only negative feeling I have about it is that it's a little too far away. But it's the only one we were fairly familiar with, and it turned out that I'm very satisfied. I would recommend it.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother was a resident of Marian Manor for five years until she passed. I love the fact that this facility is not your corporate cookie-cutter residence. The well-kept house and grounds, located in a glade surrounded by woodlands, conveys the hominess of Marian Manor. Serving approximately 40 residents, the owners and staff create a "family" atmosphere where kindness and care top the list of services offered. While the occasional minor mishap occurs--just like at your house or mine, the staff exhibits genuine concern for each of the residents and families. Marian Manor made a very difficult situation a bit easier for me to handle as they were always willing to help with anything out of the ordinary and conducted themselves with professionalism and genuine concern for the residents. I have bragged about this smaller, home-like option to many friends.

This facility is exactly opposite of their webpage posting. I was very disappointed with what I observed in this facility and it's unclean areas where residents lived, especially in the basement of this building.

At Marian Manor, the staff is absolutely great. The people that are living there seem really happy and well taken care of. Everyone is pleasant and you are always greeted with a smile whenever you walk in. They adapt to the patients' needs, and are very knowledgeable about what exactly goes on in there. You can actually say that it could actually be considered a home, rather than a nursing facility due to the type of feeling when you enter. Everything is close by, and would be my number one spot to recommend.
