Being that my dad was already at another facility, we already had an experience of a senior facility. Going to the Marian Manor of Stafford was a major, major step down for us. It was a house. They have an outdoor area, which was nicely set up for people to walk out if they want to. It wasn't as well kept. It had a lot of clutter there. The director was a major sweetheart. She was very, very nice. When we walked in there, it must have been their resting period because they were sitting in a living room. Everybody was watching TV, and everybody was in a recliner with a blanket. Nobody was up moving, and nobody was up walking. Maybe it was their resting moment. The memory care where my dad is they have some walkers. They're constantly walking around or something is always being done. These people here at Marian Manor of Stafford were all just like zombies. It was like a living room, and then it was connected to a kitchen. I saw a couple of people back there, but they were all just sitting at a table. It's just being inside of a house. It is a grandma home feel. That's how I would describe it, like a grandma home feel. If you like that grandma home feel, then that would probably be a good place. It is very small and intimate. It's got that old-style feel.

My father moved into Marian Manor of Stafford. I like that it's a small community. So there's more attention, more caregiving, and more one on one. It is an older house, so it's dated but clean. The furniture is very comfortable. It's very well maintained. The grounds outside are beautiful. Most of the staff members were very friendly, outgoing, and very caring. They do have people come in, concerts, singing, and a lot of activities. They have transportation to medical appointments and someone to come in for hair. They do their own laundry.

My mother is on the waiting list for Marian Manor of Stafford. It's all in one facility there. Everything was really nice there; we liked it a lot. The rooms were also nice and clean, and the staff member who gave me the tour was very informative. The dining area was fine, although we haven't tried the food. When we were there they weren't doing activities, but they were having lunch. We chose this community because the person we met with told us how they care for the resident each day. They have a routine schedule which we liked the best.

This place was charming! Very homey. The director clearly had every single residents best interest at the forefront. Everyone seemed very well taken care of. There didn't seem to be a lot of activities but I think it was tailored to fit what the residents liked to do. Didn't consider this place just because we needed a 2 bedroom apt and they don't offer this.

Marian Manor of Stafford is mostly for people who suffer dementia and Alzheimer's. Its a very small place, but the staff was nice. The rooms were all shared and so was the bathroom. It wasn't suitable for my mom because she's still in the right frame of mind.

Marian Manor of Stafford had a homey feeling. It was smaller and more personal because of the size. The staff was good. Although they may not offer everything that everyone else has, the people there genuinely show they care. My wife enjoyed the food. Periodically, I take her there for a couple of hours so she gets familiar with the place. When I was there, I saw the staff walking my wife around and that was special to me.

Marian Manor of Stafford is where we have my mother-in-law now. We are very pleased with it. She has dementia, she’s Japanese, she's 87, and she’s a difficult placement. After about the first day or two, she had some big adapting to do, but after that, she settled right in. She’s quite happy. She’s made a little circle of friends, and she’s happy as a lark. It’s everything that we could not provide for her at home. The place is a little bit older, so it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like some of the new ones. The care that she gets is fabulous. It’s just a small amount of people -- 39 or less -- and they all socialize with each other. They do everything together so they don’t have an opportunity to get lonely. It was a good fit because the place was cozy and quaint, with hummingbird feeders outside. The surroundings are kind of off into the forest area. It was more like home. When we placed her, they asked us what food she preferred. They went out of their way to accommodate her. The meals look awesome -- much better than where she was before -- and she’s happy to eat them. She loves the food, and she’s eating more regularly. The cook is from the Philippines, and in the afternoon, she makes my mother-in-law’s favorite green tea in a pot so she can have afternoon tea. That’s something that she’s done all her life, so it’s been really good.

The people at Marian Manor of Stafford seemed to be very happy. There was a dog there that was a nice feature. It was a nice facility. The staff was very accommodating. The nurse was showing us around, and she was very knowledgeable.
