When my cousin was diagnosed with MS we were all devastated. As her disease progressed, it became necessary to look for a long term care facility as none of our family members were able to provide her with what she needed at home. We visited several facilities and found Aarondale to be the best fit for her needs. The staff were extremely understanding, caring and experienced with her condition. It is a beautiful and peaceful place with cheerful residents. The quality of medical care here was the best we could find and we had no doubt that my cousin would be well taken care of. At the point that she was admitted, my cousin was severely debilitated and needed assistance with every aspect of her day to day life. The staff at Aarondale are so attentive to her needs and we have been nothing short of impressed with how well she is doing there. I highly recommend this facility, not only for the elderly, but even for younger, disabled individuals like my cousin. Most people don't think about young people in assisted living situations but it is a reality and a facility must be able to meet their needs, which are sometimes different. Aarondale is a top class place with caring staff and picturesque grounds. My cousin will live out her days here and we as a family feel very secure and comforted by where she is and how well she is being cared for.

People greet you with a smile as soon as you get to the entrance! My family and I went with our grandparents to see if they would find Aarondale suitable to what they needed. With amazing facilities and staff that are happy to help in whatever you need, and also being right next to the fairfax hospital and springfield healthplex is a plus. The facilities are spectacular and very nicely furnished. The on site physical therapy offered give the option for ones living their to pursue living independently again. Being located minutes from D.C and where i work made this location viable for my family an i to visit grandma and granpa as easily as possible. the gardens are lovely thier, and the activities that they described for us seem to be more than just keeping oneself busy, (grandpa hates busy work), and seems to be a variety of activities that my grandpa and grandma can get attached to. All and all, we are working on getting the all moved in to the community this fall

My grandfather lives at the Aarondale Assisted Living and Retirement Community in Springfield. I have visited him several times there, and have been quite impressed each time. The facilities are state of the art and are suitable for residents of all ages and abilities. There are many staff members employed and my grandfather seemed to receive a lot of personal attention. The outdoor gardens are lovely and provide a nice quiet place for the residents to relax. The estate is Georgian in style and is very charming. There are many activities at the Aarondale Assisted Living and Retirement Community. My grandfather is quite active and there seem to be not only laid back games, but fun and engaging events. These events are often times geared towards keeping seniors up to date on news related events. There are also many small organizations they can participate in. The politically oriented groups seem to be the most popular. Perhaps the best feature of the Aarondale Assisted Living and Retirement Community is its pleasant location in a residential neighborhood. It is close to several stores at a nearby mall and is only fifteen minutes from Washington, D.C. Overall, the Aarondale Assisted Living and Retirement Community is a wonderful center for assisted living.
I visited this facility
When I rented an apartment in a senior citizen apartment complex in the Northern Virginia area, many of my friends decided to move to assisted living when they no longer could take care of all their own needs. One of the most popular was Aarondale, which could only be described as gracious and elegant on the outside, but cozy and homelike on the inside.
Aarondale looks like a southern plantation when you drive onto the grounds and as soon as you walk in, you are greeted warmly and offered a glass or cup of tea with homemade cookies. It immediately makes you feel like you're home.
Aarondale provides all of the usual services you'd find at other assisted living facilities, but one of the reasons it is so popular is the extensive training their staff receives. The nurses and the administrative staff are genuinely happy to be there and treat all the residents with love and respect. In return, the residents are their biggest supporters and end up recommending Aarondale to their friends.
Located in a residential neighborhood, Aarondale is conveniently located less than a mile from the closest shopping center. It is also midway between Fairfax Hospital and the Springfield Healthplex, so residents are never far from professional medical services. Eating healthy is a major objective for Aarondale, and their executive chef makes the most of seasonal, local fruits and vegetables, and cooks meals to order for many of the staff. I have personally taken meals in their gracious dining room, and the variety and quality of the food is second to none. Maybe that is why residents are lining up to get into the dining room a full 30 minutes before mealtime!
Of all my friends who have moved to Aarondale, only one of them was not happy with her accommodations, and I must honestly say that she would not be happy ANYWHERE. So I would not even consider using her comments in a review.
Aarondale also offers physical and occupational therapy, and some residents who go there for what they think is ""the rest of their life"" often find that they have been rehabilitated enough to return to independent living. Although this is the exception rather than the rule, it does prove that choosing Aarondale can be a first step in becoming more independent.
No assisted living facility is perfect, but Aarondale comes mighty close!
