I visited this facility
When i went to visit this facility it was to establish some kind of base or foundation for where i would like to place my mother. Of course I wanted to put her in a nursing home that would take care of her and where the people would treat her with care and respect. After talking to some of the staff and some of the people that spend a lot of time their, i came to the conclusion that it was a very trustworthy nursing home and that both my mother and I would be satisfied with her staying there. I would rate this home very highly as I feel that the people that work there, truly work there because they care about elders and want to make sure that live a great and happy life even as they do get much older and may not be able to do the things that they loved to do when they a little younger.
I am/was a resident of this facility
Last year I spent a year at Alfred House,an assisted living facility. The lack of structured activities caused many residents to become complacent. Therefore complacency can lead to a decrease in mental capacity or possible depression. The expression "if you don't use it you loose it" is often the case in a few assisted living homes. Medication often causes people to become drowsy if not exposed to some type of stimulation. Food with too much starch and excessive salt can in some cases causes obesity and hypertension. My firsthand experience has made me appreciate the need for volunteering, which is a plan for the future.
